“Perfect evening!”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

Last Friday eve we had tickets for Wicked and had pre-booked the restaurant with the £5 per head prepayment option when booking the theatre tickets. We got to the restaurant about 5 pm and were shown straight to our table. We enjoyed a three course meal, coffees and a drink each. It was a fabulous meal and we experienced first class service! Very enjoyable and relaxing pre-theatre experience! We had a gross evening! Thoroughly recommend!

“First time trier, first time flyer!”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

It was my first time eating in Ffresh, but despite never being there before, I had heard good reviews about the fresh welsh produce and embracing atmosphere. It was a pre-show meal for Wicked on April 2nd 2014. On arrival at Ffresh bar we were warmly greeted by Dyfed who was very attentive to our needs. He went above and beyond to tell us about the different wines and cocktails on offer and that our table was ready to go as and when we wanted it.

Despite having a late arrival, we were assured by Supervisor, Thierry, that we could wait in the bar area or take our seats at the table. There was no pressure and we were made to feel at complete ease despite time running against us.

After sitting us down, Thierry ran us through the express menu and gave us his recommendations. I had the chicken and broccoli and chocolate pot. We were introduced to our waiter, Kevin, as we arrived in the restaurant area who took us to our table and made doubly sure that everything was okay, despite our friend who still hadn't arrived. They arrived shortly after we sat down, which was a great relief all round as I was starving and blood sugar levels were running low.

There were quite a few tables filled, and despite the buzz of the restaurant, we were assisted like we were the only ones there.

After eating, we paid the bill and made the way to our seats. The fact that the service was so attentive and unique, really added to the good food and good atmosphere.

Will definitely recommend and return in the future.

“Pre Show Meal”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

We were booked in to watch a show 'Wicked' at the Millennium centre and didn't want to just go to one of the, what seems many, Italian restaurants around the area so I book Ffresh as it would suit our timing for the show and you are guaranteed plenty of time so as not to be late for the show.

It was early evening, around 17:40 when we arrived and from the off-set the service could not have been better. All the staff had plenty of time to discuss the wine menu, the meal menu and have a quick chat.

The kitchen staff, which you can see through the open kitchen set-up all had smiles and looked as though they really enjoyed their work.

We started with Potted Crayfish and the Rabbit terrin. Main was Salmon and Chicken (see photos). And after a short eating break we went for the dessert which was Vanilla cheese cake and Chocolate pot with chocolate ice cream.

All the food was excellent, fresh and full of taste. The salmon was particularly tasty, possibly some of the best we've ever had, and we eat quite a bit of salmon.

The wine was perfect too. When the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the cost and thought it was excellent value for money, especially being in a major city and a prime location.

I would like to thank all of the staff for making the start of our evening so perfect, and a very big thank you to the chef and his team. An excellent experience. Thank you all. We will certainly be back again soon.

“Great service and pleasant surroundings”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

Went for a meal at Ffresh recently before seeing Wicked at the Millennium Centre. It was pouring down with rain and didn't much fancy looking for other restaurants in the rain, so ate inside the centre instead. We had a great view of the bay and people getting wet outside whilst we enjoyed the attentive service of George in the warm!
First time to visit but would recommend it - the food is good and well presented.
George - our waiter was very chatty and friendly and made us feel very welcome. I am sure I shall be visiting again soon.

“Very good”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We had a meal here before seeing the show 'Wicked'. As weather was not great we thought it would be good to eat here so at least we wouldn't have to get soaked walking round Cardiff bay, we weren't disappointed. The service was very good and the staff pleasant. My husband ordered one of the burgers and said it was very tasty but messy. I had a pizza which was also tasty but a bit boring as no garnish or anything, we had onion rings as a side dish but they were very very greasy. All in all a good experience if you want a substantial snack rather than full meal. The downside was it was very noisy there when we arrived, there was a large group of ppl behind us and the noise was deafening.
