Lovely rooms, big, spacious and well decorated. Very welcoming landlady couldn't do enough for us. Based on a main road into Cardiff but pretty quiet ( we were there at the weekend). Easy access to Cardiff centre (10 minutes walk) would definately stay again

Spent three nights here with my girlfriend earlier this month. I was working late so landlady met my girlfriend and showed her round. Landlady is, indeed, the nicest lady in the world! Cheap and cheerful it certainly is, but much more too. Good selection for continental breakfast and, yes, cooked breakfast is extra but it was lovely. Room was idyllic, with a lovely comfortable bed and a clean bathroom with shower. All in all, a lovely weekend and I'd book again in a second if I return to Cardiff. Many thanks.

Room Tip: We were in Room 6 on the top floor - it was bright and quiet.

Just arrived back from an enjoyable stay at hotel one hundred in Cardiff. We arrived very late well past the last in time of 9pm . That was no problem as long as we kept owner updated. We were in room 5. The room was done in purple and black and very cosy, perfect for a couple who needed a good night's sleep after traveling from Sweden. The location is excellent near to the shopping. Enjoyed our stay at Hotel 100 and would come back again when in Cardiff.

We booked this hotel for one night as the first stop on our tour of south Wales. The hotel's No. 1 rating and reasonable price made the choice very east for us and we had great expectations prior to arriving. Here's what we found:
THE GOOD:
Really lovely guest room with a very nice bathroom. Clean, fresh and well-decorated, it was a good room.
THE BAD:
Our room was on the ground floor nearest the street (a busy main road) and nearest the front door. We hardly got any sleep with the banging of doors and constant traffic passing by.
The mattress is soft and soggy and well past its use-by date.
THE UGLY:
We were told there would be a 3% surcharge for paying by credit card. This is not an issue if it's advised on the booking website, but to state on the website that cards are accepted and then tell you on arrival that there's an additional charge is not.
The room was booked as 'room with breakfast'. This means a full cooked breakfast to everybody except the owners of Hotel 100. They provide cereals with tea or coffee and ask for an additional payment if you want a cooked breakfast. We declined and got it elsewhere.
There is NO parking anywhere near the hotel. Most of the nearby streets have resident parking only or 6pm to 8am spaces, so you need to be away early. That's not a problem because there's no breakfast to slow you down! You can't even park in front of the hotel to unload your luggage because it's a busy main road, so be prepared to lug your bags through the streets of Cardiff.
I don't know how this hotel ever got rated No. 1.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room at the front of the building or the traffic will keep you up all night.

Dear guest,

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us last Thurday night.

Thank you for your praise of our lovely room - all of the other rooms are equally as beautiful.

When I entered your room staight after your departure I noted that the right hand side of your double glazed bay window was open and was open all night. Had it been closed with our double glazing and thick slik curtains the room would have been quiet.

The mattresses in all of the rooms are £500 Silent Night premium mattresses and 2 years old (we only opened 2 years ago)

Cards are accepted but we have of course have to pass on our additional expenses which I explained in detail on check in. It is mentioned clearly on our website.

If you had checked our website for full details you would have seen a list of the foods served at breakfast. It is a vegetarian breakfast but we offer a cooked option as an alternative. Our free breakfast consists of the following : Coffee (freshly ground and brewed), Tea (freshly made on request, 3 types of bread, French pastries, cheeses, mixed berries, 3 types of yoghurt, 5 types of cereal, jams and speads including peanut butter and Nutella, Skimmed, whole milk and Soya milk, orange juice, cranberry juice and Apple juice.

As you can see from previous reviews this is enough for most guests. It gives CHOICE to our guests. If a cooked option was included in every stay we would be much more expensive (and not all guests want a cooked option as we have clientele from all over the world).

When I checked you in I offered you onsite parking. You waived that suggestion away saying you are happy on Cyril Crescent. To say there is not parking is ludicrous as there is plenty of parking - just ask us!

You CAN park infront of the hotel to unload your baggage because we are fortunate enough to have a double width pavement.

You parked on Cyril Crescent for free which is 30 seconds walk from our front door. Potential guests reading this would not see this as a problem.

When I book in all our guests I take them through the workings of the house and your room so that immediately you feel at home in our lovely guest house but you were not interested about hearing that or about tips on sight seeing or restaurants in Cardiff.

You had every opportunity to speak to me and voice that you were dissatisfied so we could have rectified any problems you had but you could not do this.

We have been voted number 1 on Tripadvisor out of all hotels in Cardiff for our quality, reasonably priced accommodation (this is not hype) and you have to only read a few of them to realise this review is unjust.

We stayed here on a short visit to Cardiff on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and found it to live up to its recommendation. Clean, honest good value basic accomodation, comfortable and well appointed bed room and a good breakfast. Be warned, however, despite comments from others and their full knowledge of our time of arrival there was no one to meet us and as there is no receptionand no parking outside we were left waiting and having to make phone calls to gain entry, during which time we collected a parking ticket. Not exactly their fault admittedly but as they rang twice to check the time of our arrival rather annoying.

As father of two teenage-boys we've passed some days at Hotel One Hundred. Very nice, very clean, huge breakfast buffet, we enjoyed our stage and would come back everytime. There is a comfortable room for everybody to read, to play chess or just hanging around.

Stayed here for 2 nights 9-10 august 2012. We arrived two hours before check in to a warm and friendly welcome. We were shown to our very well decorated room which had the added bonus of a balconly, given the guided tour of how everything worked and any additional information that we might need.
The beds were very comfortableand the room was very well equipted as was the bathroom. There was a wide choice of breakfast to suit all needs. We cant recommend this hotel and the hospitaltily enough and would certainly stay here again.
