Stayed here as went to see the X factor! Only a few minutes walk to venue.
All staff very very friendly.
No parking, but parking only across the road and at a discount price which worked out to be reasonable.
Breakfast was worth every penny, all you can eat, very relaxed.

Me & my mum stayed here last night as we were going to see The X Factor tour. We phoned Friday afternoon to see if there was any way we could check in early as the show was at 2.30pm and check-in wasn't until 2pm! My mum found the guy on the phone extremely helpful and he said it wouldn't be problem.
When we got there yesterday at about 12.15pm the receptionist, Leanne, informed us that no rooms were available as they'd been completely booked the night before but that she would get someone on it right away. No more than 10 minutes later we were checked in and off up to our room! We had room 918 which is a double on the 9th floor. It had gorgeous views out to Cardiff Bay! There was slight noise from the trains but nothing that bothered us!
The room was lovely and spacious as well as nicely decorated, and extremely clean! There was plenty of tea/coffee/sugar/milk, as well as 2 spare pillows. There was also a desk and chair, but we'd have loved to have 2 "comfy" chairs.
The bed was large enough for 2 to sleep comfortably, I know I've been to hotels before where the bed's been a 3/4 double!
We didn't use the restaurant but it looked lovely and the food smelled delicious!

Just behind the hotel is Cardiff Queen Street train station that has a dedicated platform/train that goes directly to & from Cardiff Bay, which is handy if you don't want to mess around with buses!
It's perfectly situated for the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena (formerly the CIA) & St David's shopping centre, as both are just a 2 minute walk away!

The only downside is that there is no car park at the hotel. There is a car park not more than a minute walk from the hotel (NCP Rapports) which is extremely easy to find! It does come in at £16.00 for 24 hours but you get a reduction through the hotel which brings it down to £13.60.

I'm already planning another trip to Cardiff, and hopefully a longer one!, and wouldn't think twice about booking here!
We got the room for £19 in the spring sale which is an absolute bargain! Normally it's around £65 a night I believe which may sound steep but it's in line with (and cheaper than!) other hotels in the area!

Room was very spacious and bathroom was very good, everything was very clean. Close to centre, shops and theatre, not too far to walk to the bay. Staff were particularly friendly & helpful. Excellent breakfast and very good value. I would recommend anyone to go there.

We have just returned from an overnight stay here and it was brilliant. We were going to a concert at the CIA and the hotel is conveniently situated just a 2 minute walk away.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant that evening which was excellent and breakfast the next morning was great. The staff here were so helpful and friendly from the minute we arrived right up until we left.
Shopping is right on your doorstep, again just a 2 minute walk away.
Our room was on the 10th floor (top floor) which meant we had a great view across the city and it was so quiet we didn't experience any noise at all.
We would certainly return here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room

Excellent stay - highly recommended but at £66 a room was pricey for a 'budget' hotel - although saying that, didn't feel like I was staying in one! Really friendly staff and a fab breakfast! Helps that kids eat free! Less than a 5 min walk to new shopping centre - very convenient - will definitely do another shopping stayover!

Very good Central location no outside noise(probably being on the 8th floor helped) Great views of the Millenium Stadium and the multi storey light show... blackout curtains, plenty of tea/coffee/milk things and i knew from the reviews that i would be better offf taking my own soap and shampoo.
Self service check in with friendly staff to assist.
I did have trouble finding the Hotel as it was our first time in the City and Station Terrace was a tough one to find as it is not on what i term a roundabout.. Rapports NCP carpark did look rather rough at the edges being unmanned but we had no problems parking there overnight (The Hotel offers a 15% discount on the parking) .
Lovely Premier Breakfast - with the kids eat free offer even better..
Great stay and i look forward to returning and hopefully this time i can ditch the family for a while and have a look around the shops.
