Close to city centre and railway station. Comfortable rooms with modern facilities. Good service on arrival. Hotel happy to store bags on arrival and before checking in time. Checking in was straightforward. All facilities in good working order.

Excellent locale - across the road from Queen Ststation which is one train stop from Cardiff Central station and about a 4 minute walk to the Queen Street shops. Hotel has two entrances one on Guildford Cres and the other around the corner in Churchill Way. The front entrance also has a ramp.
The interior of the hotel is very fresh looking. Our room was quite large with a king size bed and a pull out couch for a third person. In keeping with their promise, beds were comfortable and bathroom had plenty of hot water. Tea and coffe also providedbut only two cups and two tea bags - bit stingey.
The hotel has a dining room and separate bar. Evening meals appeared reasonably priced but would expect this with the City's proximity to several nearby restaurants and a short walk to the Hayes. Breakfast also served - buffet style. It was ok - I stuck to cereal and toast. Extra charge for breakfast and I thought a bit steep (~£10).
I have always found Premier Inns to have friendly and helpful staff and this is where the hotel is let down. Strict policy of arrival time - we were 20 mins early and just left our bags. There was a take it or leave it attitude which is a definite no-no in a city full of competition. Worst sin of all though, I didn't get my early morning call which I requested from a young man the night before. Fortunately, I have a back up alarm clock which woke us but we could have missed our train.....For that I am reducing the stars to 3 - otherwise would have given more.

Sleeping experience as advertised -excellent: quiet, soft bed, covering curtains. Friendly and helpful staff (they did not hesitate to print out my boarding pass). Easy check in and out. Shower/bathtub fine. Only issue room was bit cold. Breakfast very good, with a fairly wide range of British and continental options. Tried also restaurant - food was OK, but terribly long waiting time. Price wise like restaurant in town. I had some caprese starter (quite small mozzarella and just five tiny tomatoes slices) and grilled salmon (the fish was excellent just the Bearnaise sauce was bit off), dessert fine. Paid around £24. I would definitely choose it again next time in Cardiff.
