Stayed here with my now husband for our wedding eve and wedding night.
They upgraded us as it was our wedding which was a nice surprise.
Love this hotel, had wanted to stay here for ages and I was not disappointed.
The view from the room was amazing and the room itself was spacious and kept spotless.
Will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location overlooking Cardiff Bay. The staff are very friendly and courteous which is very important as a single traveller. Good facilities with an excellent pool and compact, well equipped gym. Looking forward to my next stay.

If your feeling like spoiling yourself or someone else, afternoon tea at St David's should be considered. This was my 1st time in the hotel, we went to celebrate my niece,s exam results. A group of ten. The views are spectacular over the sea and we were pleases with a boat race to watch while we sipped tea and ate delicious cakes , scones and sandwiches. A new experience for me was smelling the different types of tea before you order, it was lovely and sparked up great conversation. The staff make you feel special and can not do enough to help.

Hotel is definitely not a 5 star.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Our room had a gorgeous view. Room itself was fine, but again not a 5 star room.
Overall, the hotel is dated and weathered. Wifi is very frustrating.
You get 'free' wifi for an hour then it bumps you off and you can't get online again for 3 hours. Otherwise you get to pay for wifi. For the prices you pay for rooms and services, you'd think they'd let you get actual free wifi.

We had a very relaxing time at this hotel , the room was excellent , unfortunately as with any hotel , the furnishings etc are not treated carefully by the occupants and it is a case of when do you decide something has become unsuitable for a hotel of this type .

That aside the views from the corner suites are interesting with very large picture windows to frame the waterside . The sun is on these rooms most of the day and the air conditioning works well to control the heat , two balconies with table/chairs weathered by the sea , but that is hardly surprising . All facilities you would expect other than mini bar which I guess is rarely used these days , but the refrigeration would have been welcome. All the usual accessories , nothing you could think of was omitted . The bathroom was a wet room , again all that you would expect included , this and the room itself were clean upon arrival with no sign of previous occupants.

The bar is pleasant , well served , with prices as you would expect .

We used the pool and hydro pools , robes /towels etc all provided , yes there was a gash in the synthetic covered ceiling , but really it was of no consequence , the pool was warm and good , if you like doing lengths for exercise it was a more than sufficient size ! there is a purpose to the sequence of the different pools with differing depths leading to the hydro , they were not just randomly dropped in .

The included evening meal was very good the fish and lamb were particularly well cooked and any requests were met quickly , breakfast is substantial , you could eat sufficient to avoid even considering lunch , the breadth of the offering should suit almost anyone , an available glass of fizz would have been to my liking but not essential. Use of Welsh products in some instances noted.

They are clearly trying very hard to maintain standards and it has to be appreciated how expensive it has become to do this in the UK all the staff we encountered were very helpful and efficient the reception and concierge were very good as were the restaurant managers , you asked and it was at your table or up to your room within minutes.

Ok its not set on the Italian riviera with magnificent stretches of breathtaking scenery , the building design is not the prettiest , its different , but takes a real sea salt beating which with all its metal structure is not the best combination.

Its very convenient to all thats available in Cardiff and the more five star establishments that can be justified in the city the better it will be for the local economy , good luck to them.
