“Part of Scottish Dreams Tour”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Shannon McDonald Tate did it again by booking this lovely hotel for two days of our Wales, Ireland ans Scotland tour. Beautiful and clean rooms with sitting room, small bar and a great full Welsh breakfast. Great neighborhood and within walking distance of Cardiff Castle.

Room Tip: Room 306 is great for a couple!!! Front of hotel.

We booked our two nights at the Lincoln House based on the terrific Trip Advisor reviews. The location was really a plus, in a quieter residential part of town. We loved the easy access to the beautiful river side walking path, leading to Bute Park which was glorious and in full bloom in June. As noted by so many of the other reviews, the rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. The staff went "above and beyond" the call of duty for us when we realized that we had left my husband's sandals behind in our room. With one email message, the staff arranged to have the sandals mailed to us at our next destination in the U.K. We repeatedly offered to reimburse for postage, but they insisted it was "no charge." It is such a delight to stay at a hotel where the owners are involved on a daily basis and are so focused on a terrific guest experience. I am confident that a "corporate" hotel would have never been so accommodating. This hotel is certainly deserving of its top rating in Cardiff.

I stayed here with a colleague for one night to attend a meeting in Cardiff. I had previously stayed here a couple of years ago and since then it has had a bit of a makeover.

The check in was very straight forward with the chap at reception giving us both the WiFi code and front door access code. The bedroom was a very good size and the very clean. The bathroom was great with a large walk in shower. I had a great sleep in a very comfortable bed and with the use of a fan, found the temperature in the room on a very mild June evening, very pleasant and easy to sleep in.

There was a huge amount to choose from at breakfast with tinned fruit, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, welsh cakes, cheese plus a great choice of cooked breakfasts too. Very attentive staff made it all very enjoyable.

The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre.

I will definitely stay here again when next in Cardiff

We normally go to this delightful hotel at least 3 times a year, for Welsh National Opera performances in Cardiff. But this year we had to miss a Winter visit owing to illness

However I was delighted that friends took over our booking, as I would not want to let down these lovely people who are always so helpful.

We always slip back into the routine here, have the same room here, and chat with the family and staff who have become like friends. Although this time there was a "newcomer" who was unknown to us, but up to the usual high standard.

Anything "plus" is that the bed in "our" room is more comfortable than the one we have at home.

We always look forward to returning, which we shall do in October, if not before.

We stayed here at the start of June for 5 nights in a ground floor room. Everything was excellent. The staff were so helpful and obliging, the room was lovely and breakfast was fantastic. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel also has its own car park. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with my mother and asked for a ground floor twin as she has trouble with stairs. We had a lovely ground floor room and were allowed to check in early. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The location convenient. The breakfast was of high quality and served to us even though we were late. The staff went the extra mile to make us breakfast and feel welcome.

So comfortable, well appointed, friendly and well located that this is far more than even the rating leads one to expect. Looking forward to a two day stay in this relaxing environment. The only fly in the ointment, soon to be forgotten, is TripAdvisor's requirement that I generate more characters for this review.
