Average Hotel, Average Location, Average Rooms, Average Restaurant...It's ok for a night or two! The Staff are exceptionally friendly though which makes the whole stay great!

The hotel itself is in a convenient location if you arrive by car as it is just by the A470/M4 junction. However, it is up to half an hour by taxi to Cardiff Central station.

My bedroom was comfortable enough and the bathroom was OK. It will, however, need a lick of paint soon.

My only really serious gripe about this hotel is the mediochre dinner and a very long wait for it despite the restaurant being nowhere near full. The soup took 25 minutes to arrive. I then complained about my main course, which was overcooked chicken on a bed of what looked and tasted something like rice pudding. The hotel gave me a complimentary drink by way of apology. This was gratefully received, but I would have preferred a decent meal.

The swimming pool is warm, very heavily chlorinated, rather short and shallow. However, there is a reasonable gym and a relaxing sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The light in the sauna wasn't working when I was there.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and have never been disappointed with the standard of the rooms (cleanliness, space etc.). The staff have always been helpful and friendly.

Not as modern or impressive looking as the Village Hotel opposite but much better service. Tends to get booked up very quickly particularly when there are sports events on in Cardiff.

Attended a day time function recently. Did not stay overnight or sample many facitilties.
The hotel is just off the Coryton roundabout, reputedly the largest roundabout in Europe, after the A470 turn off to Merthy Tydfil and before the turn off for the M4 East. It is several miles from the centre of Cardiff and there are no shops or services of any kind within walking distance. But convenient for early morning exits to the motorways. Remember at rush hour there can be 20 minute queues to get on or off the motorway or to get round the Coryton roundabout.
It is firmly 3 star, certainly no more. The catering for our function was very basic, presumably to a tight budget or a large mark up.The coffee was the right colour, but with little flavour. The buffet lunch was very basic, at about the level of a typical institutional staff canteen. For example the apparent steak and kidney pie had lumps of an unchewable substance only vaguely like meat.
Anywhere that has the word quality in its title should be assumed to be a down market budget operation although not necessarily priced as such!

We stayed at this hotel for one night 30th July for the Madonna concert and we were suprised with the hotel.

We paid a great rate online and the room was large and had everything you wanted. If you required air conditioning you needed to upgrade your room to a suite (extra £20). The shower and bathroom were of a good size and everything worked well.

Breakfast was great. You are seated and then offered coffee and toast. Main breakfast is buffet style and offers hot and cold choices.

The only downside to this hotel is it's location It's about 25 mintues from the city centre and the taxi ride cost £15 each way. This however didn't effect our stay in anyway.

I would stay at this hotel again and would advise people not to read all the bad reviews below.

The rates are good.. the service is good and you'll have a good time.

Yes it was during the heatwave and yes there was a huge wedding party on site but the hotel really could have done better. Booking in - " no you cannot have a non smoking room despite this being booked" Why not "We have given it to someone else" But my wife suffers from asthma "Sorry".....(10 mins lapse) ... "Oh your room is a non smoking room but it is coming up on the computer wrongly" Groan Rooms were clean and OK - no air con and it was a very hot sultry and uncomfortable night. Guests were running up corridors shouting at 2am and loud car noise and talking in the car park took place all through the night - no staff seemed to be dealing with it. Buffet breakfast OK and value for money quite good - tip - we got a far better rate booking through an on line agent than through their own booking service.
