“Nice hotel in an excellent location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2012

We stayed here last weekend for one night and really enjoyed it. The hotel is located right next to everything you could need. The shops, train station and bus station are all within a couple of minutes walk and it is easy to get around on foot from here.
We drove to Cardiff and it is worth saying the car park at the hotel is incredibly difficult to find although this is no fault of the hotel. All the roads around the hotel have been changed to bus lanes so car access is anything but straightforward.
The hotel itself is clean and smart and the rooms are a good size and modern. There is everything you would expect in the hotel room and it is a pleasant place to be.
We had breakfast included in our stay and it was nice. A typical buffet breakfast with plenty of choice whether you want hot or cold food. Even though there were lots of people eating, it wasn't noisy or crowded and the whole experience was quite relaxed.
We didn't use many of the services this hotel has to offer, due to the fact we were only there for one night so we didn't get to use the gym, pool or restaurants. We would definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it to others.

We had an overnight stay for a shopping trip to Cardiff. Exceptionally well placed - next to the new John Lewis and adjacent St David's Shopping Centre with a great variety of top shops and restaurants. The Marriott is just a short walk so, couldn't be more convenient. We ate out in town as there was so much choice.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of November as a treat for my birthday. I cannot fault this hotel in any way, we were upgraded to an executive room on the 8th floor which was cosy and clean, the service was excellent and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. 11am breakfast was an added bonus, that meant we could have a lie-in or use the leisure facilities before breakfast without having to rush. I was even treated to a lovely selection of fresh fruit for my birthday. Excellent!

Hotel is well located for shopping and events at Millennium Stadium. It is characterless and lacks warmth....literally, it is a chilly hotel!! Rooms and corridors are poorly heated - very unusual for Marriott Hotel. Air con/heating rattled all night in our room and shower ran scolding hot for no reason part way through morning shower. Good breakfast spread but I am still reeling from a hotel bar that doesn't stock Baileys!!!! We were unfortunate to have a party in the next door room at 3am, and hotel staff dealt with the situation swiftly and with minimal fuss.

Once we found the hotel (which was not easy, but that might have been my satnav) all ended up well. parking is easy with a lot of spaces available, although with a bit of walk to the lobby. has a room on the top floor, very close to the lounge. very nice and clean, but a bit noisy at times when other guests came and went in the lounge. nice and friendly staff, very efficient at check in and out. all you need, and located very centrally as well.

Stayed on Friday 9.11.12 for black tie event with my husband. Lovely clean hotel, central to Cardiff. Only little niggle was the one of the bathroom lights wasn't working and another was constantly flashing but again nothing major, Breakfast up untill 11am which was great when it's such a late night. Definitely come back again.

If you attend a game at the Millenium stadium there is nowhere else to stay except this hotel. its a mecca for fans and the staff are greared up and expecting large crowds before and after a match. the rooms are great and the location being 5 minutes walk from the ground and the centre of cardiff is brilliant. The only downer is that the rooms are blocked out until close to a game and then it seems corporate clients get in and take the majority of the rooms. But if you do get in its great. Breakfast is great - especially after a night of celebrating!!!!

Room Tip: just get one if you can
