Cardiff Marriott Hotel

The hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city next to major shopping streets and nightlife. probably a typical Marriott with well laid out rooms and the typical great Marriott bed. The lobby area has a good open plan coffee area and lounge which is ideal for meetings. Stayed a few times now and have had great service each time.

We booked five rooms at the hotel and were delighted to be given twin facilities , two lovely big double beds in each room . Check in was trouble free , plenty of staff on hand. This hotel has an ideal location , very central to the city centre within easy reach from the railway station and just a short walk to the heart of the city. Ideal for shoppers , sight seeing, and of course the vibrant night life. We will definitely return . Thank you all so much for a memorable stay .

Weekend away with my girlfriend! Could not fault the staff, so helpful!
Location spot on for bars, resturants and shops!
Had an amazing weekend, and would re book here again for sure!
Had a top floor room, and the view across the city was amazing,
Spend the money on this hotel, you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Topfloor facing the city!

This hotel is just at the heart of the city. When you step outside you find yourself on a street full of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Moreover many department stores, supermarkets and some convenience stores are just within 5 minutes walking radius. As this is my second time in Cardiff I think i can say it does not get any more live than here. It is also worth mentioning that Cardiff Central Railway station is two minutes walk away. Rather important for all those coming from London like me... Rooms are just plain and standard 4 star hotel rooms; no more no less. Staff of the hotel is another positive side of my stay. They are always warm and helpful and i am not only talking about the reception team but also the waiters and even the lady cooking omelettes in the morning.

Regarding the downsides, first of all free wifi is only available in the lobby but not in the rooms. I think of this as a Marriott policy. Another thing is although there is complimentary tea and coffee in the rooms there is no water. I must also add there is no dispensable sleepers either. Lobby of the hotel is virtually non existent so it is better to use the bar when you are expecting someone.

We stayed at the Marriott in Cardiff for a night during the Rugby league World Cup & picked the hotel due to its location which didn't disappoint. It's literally right in the centre, everything that Cardiff has to offer from shops, bars & restaurants are practically on the doorstep and it's within a 5-10min walk of the Millennium Stadium.
The hotel itself is typically Marriott as you'd expect. The service is excellent, the recreational areas have a lot to offer & although a little on the small side, the rooms are clean, comfortable & have everything you'd need for a short stay. There's also parking on site which is an added bonus in a city centre, from what I can remember it's quite reasonably priced at around £10 per night.
I don't know if it's a good or bad point but I find with chain hotels that once inside you could be anywhere in the world, the decor, layout, styling & service is pretty generic no matter which Marriott you visit. Having said that, I'd still recommend the Marriott for a stay in Cardiff, the hotel is sufficient & the location is excellent.

We used the Cardiff Marriott for a conference on 28th and 29th January and we were very pleased with the event and the hotel overall. The hotel is very central, within sight of the train station, next to John Lewis and the main shopping area, not to mention some very nice bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the meals in particular excellent. The staff at the hotel - in particular the conference staff - were consistently helpful, responding to our requests quickly and without complaint.

The only problems we experienced were:
(i) some of the large rooms we used for meetings were cold and did not heat up despite the efforts of staff. However, the main room was comfortable throughout;
(ii) the wifi was not easy to set up and we had to negotiate for free access for our guests, something which is normally provided as standard these days.

Other than these minor issues, we were very happy with all other aspects of the hotel, the conference and the stay. I would recommend this venue for your event and your stay in Cardiff and I would definitely consider it myself for future visits to Cardiff. Thanks to all concerned for their efforts.

(Forgot to mention: great sausages for breakfast and locally sourced food for all meals!)

The best thing was it was central for the Theatre and the nightlife. Bedrooms very small but clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and breakfast more than enough choice on offer...We spent most of our time out and about as i love visiting Cardiff. Adequate for what we wanted for this particular weekend.
