Second time at this hotel. Great value, room very clean, tidy and good quality bathroom. Staff excellent and friendly and breakfast option is amazing. Would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Cardiff.

Went to a party tonight. Bar downstairs looks more like a working mans club than a hotel. Very poorly displayed bar. Ladies toilets no toilet paper in two toilets and cold hand dryer. Men's toilets not much better. Needs a bit more attention to detail.

Stayed with friends just for the one night as we were up for a rugby match at the Millennium. We booked it months ago, and got a fantastic rate of only £41 per double room B&B. We arrived far too early to check in (9am) but the staff were extremely helpful, promptly and efficiently confirmed our bookings were in adjacent rooms, and already prepaid and told us we were free to leave the car in the car park all day.
Check in was extremely efficient and polite and we found the rooms to be spotlessly clean, very spacious and quite well appointed for a budget hotel. The bathroom was also spacious and stylish, the shower was huge and very good. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair with all the usual suspects available, and we found the breakfast room to be efficient and well staffed. My partner likes a continental style breakfast, whilst the rest of us when for the cooked and all of us enjoyed it thoroughly.
Again, check out was prompt and efficient and all 4 of us commented on how pleasant the stay had been, and particularly with the exceptional rate we had paid.
All in all, a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant hotel at a very good price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

First impressions of this hotel were good - reasonable reception, free parking, good easy access to rooms (eg lifts/ramps), very big rooms with pleasant shower rooms.
Sadly, the good impression didn't last long.
At 6pm we reported to reception that the corridors on our floor were full of cigarette smoke - it was obvious someone was smoking in their room. We went out to dinner off site, being assured the staff would look into it.
When we returned in the evening, we were greeted by a large group of yobs marauding in the carpark with bottles and pint glasses, with smashed glass everywhere. We had to walk past an intimidating crowd of these yobs who had been allowed to remain congregated, drinking & smoking by the entrance. Looking up at the rooms, there were several individuals from the same crowd hanging out of their windows smoking.
We handed in to reception one of the glasses that had been left in the carpark as it was right by someone's car tyres. By now, the whole hotel had started to reek of cigarette smoke.
A little later my husband went to check that he'd locked the car and found the yobs outside turning over bins and smashing more glass. He spoke to reception who advised that they were keeping them monitored and were about to do some rounds of the buildings.
About an hour later, at around midnight, the smell of cigarette smoke in our room had gotten so bad that I literally couldn't breathe properly (it aggrevated an existing serious medical condition). I rang reception and a gentleman came and said that even as a smoker he could smell how strong it was, and asked us if we knew who was smoking - we advised that if he just stood out front, he would see they hanging out of the windows, cigarettes in hand! We asked how it was that the smoke alarms didn't go off - he replied that guests wrap socks around the detectors and it happens all the time there. He was unable to explain how it was that the smoke alarm in our room hadn't gone off, given the now dense fog we were stood in.
He said he'd find out who was smoking and ask them to stop or they'd be fined, or even handed over to the police, Within around an hour, the smoke had started to disperse, so clearly he'd taken some kind of action.
The following morning, we went to ask the duty manager, Paul what had been done to get rid of the smoke, and who the man was who had assisted us last night. How he ever got a customer service role I have no idea as the man was rude, matter of fact and condescending. He kept interrupting and talking over us and said they'd had bigger problems to deal with that night than the smoking. He also told us the alarms didn't go off as they are heat detectors not smoke detectors. He said he'd get the General Manager to call us as 'obviously you're looking for some compensation'. Actually, we weren't after compensation, just an explanation as to why it had taken 6 hours and a porter to sort out something that should never have been allowed to escalate.
Now, I am a fair person and I understand that if a hotel has some 'difficult' guests then they have to be careful to contain the situation. What annoyed me about this hotel was that they didn't seem to care. There was no offer of an alternative room, no offer of medical assistance (clearly I was struggling to breathe!), not even some basic neutralising air freshener which would've just cost a couple of pounds. In addition, it was clear that between 6pm and 12pm nothing had been done to stop the smoking - it took our complaint to the night porter to get it sorted, which is not acceptable.
When we came to leave, we had to remove handfuls of glass from by our car tyres, which joined the empty 'tablet' packets we saw in the bushes.Couple that with the lipstick on the glasses they were using to serve the morning orange juice, and the filthy cups and plates at breakfast and its not really an experience you'd want to repeat!
So, if you are a heavy smoker, don't find yob crowds intimidating, don't mind the odd bit of herpes from dirty glasses, and enjoy being disrespected by staff who clearly need some people skills training then this is the hotel for you. As long as you also don't care that if your cigarettes cause a fire, you'll kill the entire population of the hotel as everyone will be dead from smoke inhalation way before the heat from the fire triggers the heat alarms in the rooms.
Obviously a hotel for a certain type of clientelle and not really my cup of tea...

Great value out of town Premier Inn type hotel.
Staff cheerful and helpful. Rooms more than adequate - Great shower and beds.
Taxi ride into Cardiff £10/12 and no problem.
Good value breakfast - £5 if booked in advance, £10 on the day.
Would use again and recommended.

Spent 4 nights with a David Urquhart tour.Although the hotel is very modern clean and well presented it is not geared up to deal with coach parties. The impression given is it is a business mans stopover hotel and holiday makers are classed as second class guests.Plenty of snobbery here! The rooms are very spacious clean with a lovely shower room. However where is the wardrobe or drawers - you could only hang your clothes on a pole sticking out of the wall. The buffet style breakfast was exceptional except fried eggs were only supplied to order and the staff were reluctant to serve them. The buffet evening meal left a lot to be desired with basically the same dishes on offer every night. However we enjoyed our holiday (Cardiff is a lovely city) we would not visit this hotel again David & Andrea Grist

I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends for a Murder, Mystery weekend. The hotel is probably one of the best I have stayed at. Our room was very clean, a good size and very modern. The evening meal was very nice and so was breakfast, with a choice of full English or Continental breakfast. Would certainly go back there again.
The Murder, Mystery evening was also very entertaining. .
