We travelled to Wales for the Rugby League World Cup and stayed in Railway Cottage. We watched the opening ceremony in Cardiff and travelled there by train - only a hop skip & a jump from our accommodation..
Lovely location, off road parking, close to transport, restaurants and pubs nearby, supermarket with all you need to fend for yourself.
Very clean and tidy, well set out, plenty of room, very comfortable.
Welsh cakes were AWESOME!
Richard and family were very helpful. Would highly recommend Railway Cottage.

We spent a great week in Railway Cottage, even the weather was very kind to us. The cottage is ideal as a base for exploring the area, with easy access to Cardiff by Rail, Bus and car, the only thing I would say is that public transport seems very expensive in Cardiff, the bus is twice the price of the train, although the train is a little further to walk.
The cottage is very cosy and homely, everything you could want is there, every kitchen gadget and tool is available. The cottage is warm, and even though you are attached to the owners house you have the ability to control the heating. WIFI is available if you ask Rob and he puts a booster in the cottage for you, which works perfectly. Did not try the food in the local pub as we could not get served as the rugby was on so it seems everything stops for this, on Robs recommendation we tried the curry house and this was excellent.The chippy was also good. I would definitely return to Railway Cottage.

We stayed at the Railway Cottage for 10 nights. Everything was perfect. A very warm welcome has been given from Rob. The welcome Welsh Cakes were excellent. It was very tidy and we felt like at home from the first moment on. Please do follow Rob's suggestions concerning Pub's and eating out - it is worth it. We enjoyed two very nice evenings at a location he suggested to us which a visit is well worth (Gwaelod Y Garth Inn - highly recommendable!). We were happy that the heating was also working very good because autumn already started. We spent a wonderful holiday at the Railway Cottage. Thank you Rob & family.

returned back a few weeks ago,stayed for a week at the railway cottage,this is idealy situated for everything you need.the cottage was imnaculate and had everything you needed. with a plesent garden to rear.for any inforrmation just ask robert the owner he is a weath of information .both robert and his wife jo are the most friendly and welcoming people you will meet nothing is too much to ask them and to me thats wot makes a place the people and there kindness.well worth a stay .dave@glen up yorkshire
