“INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We booked thi shotel for 1 night as we were staybing in cardiff overnight. We saw the very low price but booked it anyway.
When we arrived we were very happy with our room, which was quiet and comfortable, and well equipped. Everything worke dand was well presented and modern. We paid approx $40 Au for this hotel which we feel is the bargain of the year...I am not sure it costs much more than that at other times(we did book way in advance)....

Room Tip: If you dont mind a short drive or bus trip to the city, this is the best value for money Hotel we st...

I just want to say how great this hotel was. I stayed here for my hen party, we had 8 rooms altogether for one night. The rooms were all on one corridor and there were 4 beds made up in each room. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.

We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were very polite and friendly. Thank you very much.

Booked in here for three nights for Heinekin Cup Final weekend, 2014. This hotel has been recently painted inside, however a lick of paint doesn't always hide its faults.

Firstly, the smell on entering was awful. The stench was that of damp throughout the lobby area and it continued down the corridor to the rooms.

Secondly, the receptionist did not even bother to welcome us. She just confirmed we were who we said we were and gave us a room key.

Thirdly on entering the room we did notice there had been a coat of paint applied to the walls and the smell was not as prevalent as it had been in the lobby. On inspecting the toilet and shower we discovered a rather large dead fly/insect in the bath. We decided to leave it there to see if the cleaner would discover it. It was still there on day three.

Fourthly we discovered to our horror there were red ants in the room, crawling up the walls and over the furniture. This was reported to the receptionist and we asked for a change of room. This could not be accommodated because the hotel was full.

On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and the location was convenient but these aside I would be in no hurry back whatsoever.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere.

Stayed here for one night, booked it for the location as we had to be at the University hospital early in the morning, & it is only a couple of miles down the road. Found the hotel easily enough, it is next to a housing estate, & adjacent to the A48 dual carriageway. Everywhere looked clean but there was a strange smell like damp washing in the corridor. Rooms have been refurbished, but the decor is very bland, & could do with a bit of colour in the room, maybe more pictures on the wall. Usual tea tray, there is an opition of a breakfast box, at extra cost. The harvester next door has now started to serve breakfast on weekdays as well as weekends.
Travelodge claim their beds are so comfortable that you would want to buy one, & give details of a link to their website where you can do so. Sorry but I found the bed to be on the hard side of firm, & not comfortable at all. The pillows were nice & bouncy though. If you want to sleep with the window open then you can hear the traffic noise on the busy road, although this wasn't too intrusive, as it was more of a swishing noise. Bathroom was what you would expect, bath quite small & shallow though. as usual no toiletries provided, other than soap which came as a small bottle of all purpose liquid soap/ shower gel.

This was the third Travel Lodge we stayed in on our recent trip to the UK. The most important thing we found that having traveled most of the day was a comfortable bed and we were not disappointed, the beds were fantastic. As usual the staff were efficient and friendly as they had been in the other Travel Lodges we had stopped at. The rooms were clean and were enough for our needs We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room prices were non wallet busting and we will definitely return.

We stayed for one night while on a short visit to Wales. The room was very clean, but there was an overpowering smell of bleach when we checked in. We were in a newly refurbished room and the bed was fab! Very comfortable and we slept really well on it ( far better than our previous experiences in a Travelodge bed!)
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming.
