“Nice & clean; just a bit weird??!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2012

Good points;

Really clean rooms and very quiet. Good sized TV with plenty of channels and clean bathroom. Staff very friendly and polite. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty.

Bad [Indifferent] Points;

The hotel is attached to a David Lloyd Gym and you have to follow the curtained path through a load of tennis courts, then some squash courts, followed by a corridor, then some more tennis courts to get to the bar of the gym to have your breakfast. It is poorly signed and just plain weird!!! I am sure this could be made more appealing....

On another note, the signage to actually find the hotel from the road is also pretty crap. As you have no chance of seeing it from the road, you need to look for the David Lloyd signs right on the bed in the classy industrial estate that you approach it from.

Stayed 3 nights, and found the beds VERY comfortable (as always). We were lucky to have a room that had recently been refurbished, and had a good sized flat screen television, with all the channels you would expect.... and some HD channels!!! YAY!!
Easy to find, and very little noise. A very nice breakfast service.

Room Tip: Rooms downstairs are quiet.

Stayed 3 nights here. Found to be good value for money, def a better alternative to our usual hotel brand.

Hotel was quite secluded. Local area very quiet. Not too far from Cardiff.

Hotel room was very nice - good colours and in very good condition. We even had a decent sized flat screen tv! Bathroom was decent as was bedding.

Only gripe was the loud footsteps from neighbours child very ealry in the morning, but this was tolerable!

They are in the process of revamping the place - but this did not bother us as we were out during the day. Only got the smell of fresh pain on returning!

Forgot to mention free parking - and lots of it!

Very help and welcoming staff even though I didn't check in until 10pm. Spent a very quiet night in a comfotable room. Appreciated the fact they had provided a fan to help keep cool.

This hotel doesn't look good from the outside. It is located at the back of a large David Lloyd Health Club which itself is located in the middle of an industrial/retail park. It is currently undergoing refurbishment so opposite the entrance is a row of builders containers! That said the hotel is fine for an overnight stay. We were going to a show at the Millenium Centre so spent very little time actually in the hotel. A taxi to Cardiff Bay was approximately £10.00 each way. Arriving back after the show we were dispappointed that the bar was closed (10.30 on a Saturday evening). This is because it is located in the David Lloyd Centre not in the hotel. Breakfast is also taken there. As we couldn't use the DL facilities in the evening and didn't use them in the morning we can't comment on them.
The room was up to the normal Premier Inn standard, large with comfortable bed and spotless bathroom.
Cardiff Bay is well worth a visit, lots of good bars, restaurants and sights to see.

Undergoing refurbishment work but staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Room clean and tidy but a little "tired". Good beds and linen. Bathroom good. Overall stay excellent.
