“Many Good Reasons to Stay Here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

This is a great hotel, lovely big room and big comfy bed. The location is excellent, a bit out of the way so quite quiet. There are plenty of facilities close by though including a Morrisons in walking distance. A few takeaways and restaurants nearby including Frankie and Benny's where we had a fab meal. We could hear a bit of road noise with the window open but not too bad. We did have one issue with the hotel but I am still giving it 5 stars - that is the lack of air conditioning. We stayed at the hotel last week during a heat wave. We brought our own fans and the hotel also provided one large one but our room temperature never went below 26c, this made sleeping very difficult. The staff there said they had been petitioning for air con in the hotel so I pray they will be successful. I will happily stay here again but not at the height of summer until they have air con. Just one other small niggle - despite the fact they knew there were 3 of us staying in the room they only provided 2 towels and we had to ask for another. The staff were very friendly and showed an interest in us and what we were doing which was nice.

I've stayed here 3 times this month and found all the staff to be really friendly and helpful. The nature reserve that is next door to the hotel is an ideal place to stretch your legs after a long drive.
It is a better place to stay in winter when you won't want the window open (traffic noise is in the background).
Food at the David Lloyd is ok.

Does what it says on the tin, a reasonably priced hotel with good parking, a clean room, lovely bed, decent enough shower, 30 mins free wifi, very near to the city centre and also to main road to M4, perfect combination.

This Premier Inn is a little different from the rest. It's a little bit of a challenge to find, our sat nav failed at the task! There are signs but they are hidden behind over grown trees, I believe that hotel is awaiting new signage. Once you identify where it is you need to drive into the David Lloyd Gym and turn left. There are loads of car park places, but the hotel doesn't look much like what you expect a premier inn to look like! From talking with the reception staff I believe in a previous life it was a set of offices. This fact is what makes it different. We found the rooms to be HUGE in comparison to other premier inns. We asked upon arrival for a quiet room on a upper floor and were accommodated with such and had one of the best sleeps all holiday. Because this hotel in a re-development of a building there is no space for a cafe, hence begins the adventure, the breakfast area is sign posted through the sports carnet to a section of the David Lloyd eatery. (Added morning entertainment for kids?) because of it position, we were able to eat out breakfast outside in the fresh air and there is none of that big tray dried out bacon and egg experience in other premier inn, we were brought ours freshly made to order! What a treat! And all for less that £50! (Only thing to add is this place must have the slowest lift in the history of time! See what you can count up to between floors, we got to 37 sec between two floors!) enjoy!

I regularly use this hotel during the week at cardiff for business use. It is situated within easy reach of the M4 and city centre by car (10 mins).

The hotel is nice and quiet and the staff have done all they can to keep the hotel rooms cool in the current heat (there is no air con, but they have fans readily available).

There is no restaurant on site but they have a david lloyd restaurant next door which you have to walk round the hotel to get to (not a problem when its dry but when raining can be a pain).

Breakfast is served in david lloyd but you can cut through the hotel and tennis courts until breakfast is finished serving then you have to walk round again.

There is sufficient free car parking on site and the hotel is usefull for david lloyd members.

The rooms are clean with comfy beds and large tvs on the wall.
