... and they don't don't build them like this any more" are two well trod cliches but certainly reflects the fine and varied history of this municipal building. Very "grand" and imposing, with helpful and friendly staff at the function I attended.
A good central location and with the public gardens immediately outside and National Museum of Wales (& other venues) just two minutes walk away, plenty to see and do for all the family.
In warmer & drier weather, join office/shop workers taking a lunch break in the gardens.

We visited this venue to attend a friends sons wedding. There is adequate local car parking and if you're lucky like we were you can get a code from the hosts and park right outside the front door after the barriers. The City Hall as you would expect is quite grand in its nature and there are facilities for the disabled to access the property. We really enjoyed the evening a would return.

Cardiff's City Hall is one beautiful civic structure and free to visitors. On the second floor the marble columns and statues are astounding. From Boudicia of Roman/British fame, to a lovely portrait of Princess Diana, this structure with state chambers (used only once per year) is a treasure!
