“Good value, good rooms”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

Ideal location for both Cardiff Bay & City Centre. Friendly staff at check in & in restaurant next door. Rooms have been nicely refurbished with good sized flat screen TVs Rooms are a good size & clean. Breakfast nice & fresh. Situated in a quiet location with plenty of free parking. We had a good stay & would return.

We had two rooms bec of 3 children + 2 adults. I phoned 4 days before hand to ask that the rooms were next to each other, and when we arrived they were close but not next to each other. How difficult is it to put two rooms next to each other? They made some excuse about someone staying longer than normal. The rooms were good standard Premier Inn, with a few minor maintenance issues - one room the door was hard to open, another the bathroom door handle was coming away. However, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and it wasn't noisy at all. Very close to centre of Cardiff, though not walkable with a family. Breakfast at the next door Brewers Fayre was excellent.

Another great stay for the Easter weekend at this Premier Inn, very helpful staff, Clean tidy hotel & our room all up to their expected standard.. no complaints.. Had breakfast on the Saturday in the attached pub not bad value as kids eat free, cooked breakfast items could have been hotter, but on the whole not bad. This is quite close to Cardiff Bay, we did walk back, but it is a bit of a hike as you can't go a direct route as there is a dual carriageway in the way!! Good location for the Bay and central Cardiff.

As usual, our stay at the Premier Inn at Cardiff City South was good. Room and everything were clean, tidy and comfortable. A perfect base for days out in and around Cardiff - close to the ring Rd etc. Areas for improvement would include provision of unlimited wifi to keep the kids happy at night time, and a review of the restaurant. We've stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed the Premier Inn breakfasts. This time, the quality of food provided was not good. The full hot range was not available at peak times, and food was either undercooked or cold and had to be returned more than once. A big disappointment. The evening meal buffet nights are a good idea if you are on a budget, but the quality of the food provided was really poor. It would be good if these quality issues could be addressed with the Restaurant management ASAP to avoid other guest being disappointed, especially if they've paid in advance for the breakfasts.

Clean and pleasant environment with very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant good and wide choices. Exceptionally family friendly and suitable for young family. Good facilities in the room and freshnand modern environment. Close enough to Cardiff Bay for main attractions but nice to return to calming environment with space for children to run after only a 10 minute drive.

Based a short drive (5 mins) from St Davids Shopping Centre, this is an ideal hotel for anyone wanting a short city break. My wife and I stayed for one night and went to St David's for a comedy gig. The Brewer's Fayre restaurant is literally next door to this Premier Inn and he food was simple - tasty and very good value. Coffee at the Breweres Fayre was from Costa Coffee and there was a unlimited refills policy (buy one for £2.50 then free unlimited refills).
Note - this Premier Inn does not have a Lift so if you have mobility problems, make sure the staff are aware!! Also - try and get a room furthest from reception otherwise you will have a lot of people walking along the corridor - there is only one entrance / exit, so do the maths. Decent car park, with lots of space. Felt secure and safe with no racer boys in the car park. Would stay again.

Room Tip: No A/C, Choose rooms furthest from reception - quieter the further away from reception.
