Like a previous reviewer, visited with family for lunch after the Dr Who Experience. Three meals and three drinks for approx £35. Pork and stuffing ciabatta was good, fish and chips for little-un was a little disappointing as it was riddled with bones (yes, i know fish are born with bones, but I would have thought the fillets bought in could have been pinboned). I had the Wesh pork and wholegrain mustard burger - to quote dear Michael Winner (RIP) - Historic! Good fries, slaw was a bit of a disappointment, but a very nice pint of Brains Black! Might try the Gourmet Burger Kitchen next door next time!

We both had Ciabatta Sandwiches which come with a nice fresh little salad and chips.
The restaurant was nicely furnished and lovely and clean it had a good varied Menu and we sat upstairs outside on the balcony which was lovely.
On the down side my husbands coffee was weak and average and the filling in our sandwiches was sparse to say the least, this we both decided put us off returning to try an evening meal there during our stay in the area.

Called in here for a meal last Friday (August 15th 2013) before going to see a show at the Millennium Centre. Had a wheelchair based friend with us, so was pleased at the ease of getting a wheelchair in to this restaurant. First impression was very good, light and airy, plenty of access to all tables - great access to disabled toilet facilities. I believe this is an S.A.Brains pub / restaurant much along the lines of "O'Neills" etc. Menu looked promising - with a good choice & the all important calorie count. The prices were very reasonable (£8.95 for Fish n' Chips) which, given the location, (Cardiff Bay) was, we thought, fair enough. The food quality, however, did not really live up to our expectations - presentation was okay, but we all agreed that taste was "artificial" & rather bland.(We realise that this is inexpensive "fast" "pub food" but have tasted much better at ONeill's or even Wetherspoons). Service was good, Bar service was also quite good, but pricing was rather "hit & miss". One member of staff charged £2.00 for a filter coffee whilst another wanted to charge almost £3.00 for the same item. Heineken came in at almost £4 /pint. So,would we go there again - at a push Yes - mainly just to see what it would be like on another day!!!!!

My family and I went to Salt after visiting the Dr. Who experience, We had a very nice lunch that was well cooked and brought out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The staff here were very helpful and went out of their way to find out information about the menu. Sadly, both meals were poor quality, (Risotto and a chicken dish); they were not overpriced but not good enough to finish. Some good beer to be had though if you are not hungry!
