A superb independent cafe/tea room, the food is different to what you get in your bog standard chain, I highly recommend the open sandwiches washed down with a nice earl grey

I feel obliged to write another review of Wally's, the other having been written quite some time ago. It is still very pleasant: the deli downstairs, which is well stocked with many interesting, uncommon foods as well as the usual deli offerings; and the cafe upstairs, which is my favourite thing about Wally's. The coffee there tastes to me better than that of many other places in Cardiff, and the green tea is prepared well; that is to say, not scolded and bitter as it can be in many places that serve coffee. Along with the wide variety of coffee-based drinks, the food offered in the cafe is pretty reasonablt priced. I am very fond of their baklava, which complements a strong americano very nicely. Finally, the atmosphere is as good as ever, and the view down onto the arcade very nice.

I knew about Wally's from finding them online a few years ago, and on visiting Cardiff made it a priority to find this amazing deli and cafe. Was not disappointed and the real thing was wonderful! The smells in this deli are divine! Decided to have lunch upstairs in the cafe, and had the meat and cheese platter for two, wow......delicious doesn't even cover it! Totally lovely. A definite must of you go to Cardiff.

Wally's is now right in the thick of the action in Cardiff as St David's 2 is a short walk away. I only recently discovered they had a cafe as I am a regular visitor to the shop when back in the UK. A cafe with a delicatessen for supplier must have some excellent food and drink and you'd be right.

The menu is small with a lean to Austrian food. This mostly involves sausages but many other things too. One of our party was a vegan and they easily catered for this. Food was served quickly but not before the really excellent coffee.

Shame they aren't open for dinner as I could see myself eating there a lot more.
