I visited the Pettigrew Tea Room for the first time last night. I was invited by my boss, and wasn't sure what to expect. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, offering us a tour of their wonderful building which we, of course accepted.
its situated in Bute park, a stones throw away from Cardiff castle.
The room is beautifully laid out and the decor is elegant, stylish and steeped in rich history, which the staff will happily and enthusiastically tell you about. Everywhere you look, there is something fascinating from the tiles which date back 125 years, or the grandfather clock on the wall that's been handed from generation to generation.
the atmosphere buzzes, but is never over bearing or detracts from the rooms intimacy.
I felt relaxed, comfortable and the staff were always on hand to top up the tea (in lovely fine china cups) without ever being intrusive.
I left feeling genuinely pleased and satisfied.
