This was absolutely hilarious from start to finish and had me roaring with laughter, and leaving the theatre with my husband, 2 children aged 9 and 15, and mother (nearly 80), on a real high. We stayed up with the kids until 11pm recalling our favourite bits!! The 3D section was superb - humorous, and worked well with the plot, with high quality images. My mum hadn't experienced 3D before, but was amazed and thrilled by the experience. Even my children who are well-experienced in 3D effects (Life of Pi and The Hobbit in recent weeks at the cinema) were enthralled and amused. Joe Pasquale was superb, his comedy was quickfire and his comic timing and slapstick slick and really funny. There was innuendo, but nothing really crude, and it was the type of physical, bodily humour that a lot of kids love (ie. farting - so if that offends you stay away...) Ceri Dupree was glamorous, she looked FAB-U-LOUS!! She was a commanding, masterly (mistressly?) dame in the best tradition, with great lines and ad lib, and a fine figure in a sequinned frock and vertiginous heels. FANTASTIC! I haven't been able to see who played the villainess, but she was also terrific - sort of like Hilary Devey from Dragons Den but twisted and evil, and with her sidekick son, Slimeball, another great comedic element to the show. Princess Beauty and the Prince were great straight men for Joe Pasquale's really physical comedy! It was great to sneak ooks at my kids, and see them killing themselves laughing. Great family therapy! The sets were lovely, the costumes great - lots of glitter and colour, the effects and production values were top quality, and would say this is the best panto we've seen at the New for quite a few years (up there with John Barrowman's Robin Hood spectacular a few year's ago). It's only on for another week - so GO, GO, G0.
