Actually I was visiting the place on average once a month between June 2012 and February 2013. We have always enjoyed the food. The choice wasn't that broad, but at least everything was delicious and fresh. Quite often we were choosing specials, which were outside the standard menu. The atmosphere was great - we do enjoy places with their own style. "Polka" has some traditional polish rural motifs on the walls. Also it's quite a cosy and friendly place. We really liked the family running the business.
Value is great - food was great and really cheap.
On the downside, once we were there with a bigger group of friends and the owners weren't that smooth with handling the orders. I believe it was due to their inexperience at that time, as it was shortly after the place has opened. Also the place is open from noon till 7pm only, but once we did ask them to keep the place opened longer for us, and we came quarter past and could stay really late.
All in all the best place to try Polish cuisine in Cardiff. I highly recommend it.
