Booked this through an 'Introduction to Kerala Cuisine' Amazon local voucher, otherwise would never have spotted it hidden away upstairs on Caroline street.
The decor is restrained and un-pretentious, with the background music from Lalgudi Jayaramna (thanks Shazam) creating a relaxed atmosphere. We had a choice of meat or vegetarian set menu, opting for meat. Poppadoms were light and the dips tasted great, whetting our appetites. The starter was delicious Kerala fried chicken with chilli/garlic and mango/ginger chutneys, followed by a yellow Jeera Dal and Lamb Pepper Stew. The dal was a little bland but the lamb was the highlight, very creamy and perfectly tender. Desert was a small serve of Coconut and Mango ice-cream - both creamy and delicious.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the food, despite the Dal, and would definitely eat here again in the near future - the regular menu looked very reasonably priced, varied and the service was excellent. Go and try it!
