Last week we decided to cross the boarder between England and Wales seeking a meal in this restaurant after we have read some reviews in this website. After a 38 miles trip and with the help of my smart phone google maps, we arrived exactly on time, 17.45. We walked through the main door on 118 City Road and immediately a young boy who turned out to be the son of the restaurant owner, approached us and took us straight to our booked table. With three children, my wife and myself, we have been given a table at the right just next to the wall and behind the main counter, where they prepare the fresh juices and hot drinks.
The young boy has returned with the menus for all of us, and most of the food items listed in the menu were very well known to us as a family with origins in Palestine.
I had a plan to order one large plate of mixed grill for all of us. With kids wanting different things, we ended up ordering different things, which of course gave us an opportunity to explore a wider range of food items.
The younger boy wanted a shawarma in a wrap. The middle boy ordered a Kubba Kebab and we ordered two special Shaam Nights mixed grill. For starters we ordered Kubba, tabulah, baba ganuj and hummus. The Kubba was really delicious and freshly cooked. the tabulah was absolutely stunning. Perhaps, the best tabulah I ever eaten in my life, and I have eaten tabulah more times that you can imagine. The bab ganuj was ok, but the BIG disappointment was the hummus. It was fresh, but missing the flavour. Perhaps it needed some tehina and garlic.
By the time we finished the salads, the main course was almost ready, just before the kids have started moaning, the main course arrived, what a presentation, WOW, looked so nice and beautifully grilled. The taste and flavour and most importantly the quantity, the size of these portions, WOW, really exceeded my expectations.
The bill was very reasonable and we all were happy and pleased we came to this restaurant.
I will definitely go again, and soon.

My partner and I have eaten at Shaam Nights on several occasions - the food is wonderfully fresh and every dish we have tried has been delicious.

The staff are attentive and friendly, and happy to make recommendations if you're new to the restaurant. The decor is stunning and the place has a lovely feel to it.

The lamb shawarma dish, mixed mezza and king prawns are a must try!

We visited this restaurant back in December of last year. Upon arrival we were instantly impressed with the attentiveness and friendliness of a gentleman called Omar.
We quickly realised that this restaurant did not sell alcohol however the fresh juices/smoothies that were served were excellent.

Omar specifically was extremely helpful in giving us information on recommended dishes in addition to a history lesson whilst we decided what to order!.
The starters and mains were excellent as were the dessert and sampler dish we tried.I genuinely believe you could not go wrong with anything from the menu.

Once again thank you Omar for ensuring that during our experience we did not -felafel-be cous cous- of your great sense of hummus

Thanks

As a student who loves his international food, in a city like Cardiff it is hard to find such a place but Shaam nights offers all the above and a lot more. The juicy garlic onion and chicken/lamb filled Shawerma wraps will leave your bank account and your stomach feeling statifsed and in the need for more. The excellent service is there with the chilled musically induced atmosphere that sets your night, that perfect night.
