Have been a regular visitor to the Bev for many years and i have nothing but praise for the staff, the food and the location. Its so nice to visit a hotel where you are welcomed as a friend.Would not consider staying in another hotel for my frequent visits to the capital

I have personally stayed at this Hotel on many occasions, for three months in 2006! I have also used it to accommodate numerous Senior Engineers that I have employed on various petrochemical projects throughout South Wales. It is not, and has no pretensions to be, a Five Star Hotel. It is a friendly, comfortable, affordable and well situated Hotel that has benefitted from a recent refurbishment. The rooms are clean, tidy, spacious and airy. In my experience the staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. It has a proper bar where you can mix with other guests and local customers, and the food is excellent value for money. If you are looking for a Gym, Jacuzzi and 24hr room service this is not the place for you. If you want a pleasant stay close to the city centre which is good value I would recommend it. As a footnote, I was staying in Cardiff, though not at the Beverley which was full, during the visit of the Baseball team from Liverpool who have left some previous comments. As I remember it, which is quite vividly, I find it hard to think of a Hotel which could have accommodated the expectations and requirements of a number that party.

This hotel is ideally placed just on the edge of the city centre, I have stayed a number of times and felt compelled to write a review due to some of the wholly unfair comments made previously. It is not the Hilton and does not have a spa to pamper yourself in, but if you want a good value comfortable hotel with bags of chracter then I would recommend the Beverley Hotel. Breakfast is great value and when I mentioned I needed it earlier than they were planning on serving it, they made a speical effort to make it for me.
I always stay in the Beverley as I like the pub and my boss likes the price, the staff are always very friendly and I enjoy my time there.

I would just like to say that i stayed at this hotel about a week ago
and i was mortified !!!!!!! the rooms are dark cold and need a deep clean they are very very dusty and smelly, was so hard to sleep !!! ther was a pair of socks in my room and also face wipes with make up all over that was left from the customer before us !!!!! it is so over priced ! not worth a penny. The location i thought was great. Atleast we didnt have to stay at the hotel we could head into the town!!! The bar is ok a bit rowdy ! lots of men, builders etc !
it is not some where i would ever stay again !
The plus side the staff were very helpful !!! and the manager was very welcoming.
Just a shame

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
If you're looking for hotels in Cardiff, our lodge offers budget accommodation close to the heart of the city. So whether you're here for business or pleasure, you'll be near enough to all the action, yet happily away from the hustle and bustle. The Millennium Stadium is just a 15-minute walk away, as is Cardiff Arms Park, and attractions such as Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Bay are also within easy reach. While you're sightseeing, how about stepping into the future - or the past - by visiting the Dr Who Experience? Of course, you won't need a Tardis to get to us because the M4 is on the doorstep, and excellent rail and plane connections are just a taxi-ride away. As for the lodge itself, our classic Victorian building was once a rich man's townhouse. Today it's anything but expensive to stay here. With a comfy bed and a cool pint or plate of hearty pub-food available in the pub downstairs, you'll find it offers a great-value base for exploring the Welsh capital. ... more   less
