“Excellent Townhouse in a great location”
Reviewed 17 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Beautifully prepared with little touches that meant we were wanting for nothing. Short walk to the millennium centre, shops and restaurants. Quiet and clean.A toilet on each floor was very convenient! Would highly recommend to anyone.

“Fab stay in Cardiff bay”
Reviewed 13 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had a lovely weekend in this property in Cardiff Bay. There were 6 adults and we managed to squeeze in 3 children under 5 in ready beds we took with us. It is a spacious 3 bedroom property with everything you need for a weekend away. Very close to Cardiff Bay and all the restaurants etc there. We arrived earlier than we'd said and they came straight over with the key which was really helpful. Can't fault the property and would definitely use it again if we were staying in Cardiff.

“Fantastic location, lovely modern house”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here for a couple of nights in August for Doctor Who related stuff. The house is in a great location - just a 5 minute walk from the central Cardiff Bay area, with all the restaurants etc, and also the Doctor Who Experience a 10 minute walk. During the summer holidays Mermaid Quay has a boardwalk set up with loads of activities for kids, which was brilliant! There's also a kids play park just round the corner from the house, which was handy as well. You can also catch a water bus into the city centre from the quay every 30 mins.

As it's such a good location, parking is a potential issue - no charge for it but the road is full of people parked to go to the Bay area, so if you get a space make sure you stay there! There are also a couple of mini supermarkets nearby - the Tesco is probably the nearest.

The house itself was very clean, and furnished and presented very nicely. Plenty of towels / pillows etc. Very well equipped kitchen, and it was lovely to have some milk in the fridge as well as some coffee / tea / sugar when we arrived. Lovely big american style fridge freezer too! The courtyard garden is nice and private - south facing so gets lots of sunshine. Nice comfortable lounge with Ski TV - the basic package so you can only get free channels (no Dave though - blame Sky for that!). Good wifi connection too. Also a big plus to have a downstairs cloakroom, bathroom on the middle floor, and en-suite on the top floor.

On arriving Rob met us with the keys, and showed us round the house - very helpful and friendly! No issues either with the deposit, all in all everything was very straightforward.

The only additional point I would make is that all the beds are 4'6" - it would make the house more flexible if at least one of the bedrooms had a zip and link bed instead, so you could either have two children in the room, or a king size bed.

“Good location, very busy on street parking and kept part of damages deposit without telling us”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a house that is located in a convenient part of Cardiff Bay which makes it easy to walk or get the bus. The street on which it is located has a lot of parked cars on it which does make it a bit of a challenge finding a space sometimes but we always did eventually. The house was clean and tidy on arrival with towels provided.

If you are going to use the oven or wash any dishes during your stay you best bring your own oven glove and drying cloths as none are provided. We did contact the number we had been given to ask if we had simply not found them, to told that it wasn't part of his agreement with the owner but he very kindly dropped them off to us as he was in the area. Other things that I thought would be useful that the house lacked was a rubber safety mat for the bath and a hair dryer.

We could only use one of the showers as the mixer on the shower over the bath appeared to only provide scalding hot or freezing cold water. I did mention this to the owner in an email after our stay but I didn't hear back from him so I don't know if it has been fixed or not.

After we left I was informed by holiday lettings that we would receive our £250 damages deposit within 10 days. I contacted the owner after 9 days to ask when he thought we would receive it and he informed me that it was holiday lettings not him that was responsible for this and that it was likely to be in the next couple of days. When we did get our damages deposit back it was for £10 less than I was expecting with no information as to why this was. I contacted both the owner and holiday lettings to ask why this was. Apparently when we left the smoke alarm was unhinged and it cost £10 to repair it. I have since been in a 3 way conversation with the owner and holiday lettings whereby both of them keep passing the buck to the other. The owner says he uses holiday lettings to avoid getting into these disputes and that he was simply following their procedure therefore did not see why he should inform us. Holiday lettings say that all they know is that the owner told them that we damaged the smoke alarm and asked them to deduct £10. All I know is that deducting money from a damages deposit without even informing the guest of what they were supposed to have done is wrong. We didn't damage anything but it seems that doesn't matter so long as both sides followed their procedure.

“Great house in a superb location!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

I had an absolutely superb weekend staying in David's house. Not only was it beautiful, clean and tidy, it was in a great location too! The booking process was super easy and both David and Rob were really laid back and great to deal with. There was only one tiny downside - there was no DVD player as was advertised on the letting page but there was Sky TV so this didn't turn out to be too much of a problem after all! Thanks again David for letting us rent your lovely house.

“Fabulous House & great location”

Stayed here over weekend. House was very clean, modern, spacious & it had all that I wanted. I couldn't fault it for location as only 5 minutes walk to the lively Cardiff Bay with restaurants & bars, the Cardiff Bay railway station & Wales Millenium Centre. I'd stay here again when next in Cardiff!
