Have stayed here during a business trip and although have not been able to utilise all the facilities have had a relaxing enjoyable stay. The staff have been well trained and are a credit to the company, it is clear they understand the hospitality industry unlike many hotels. The room I had was comfortable and clean, staff were very attentive if I needed anything. There is a £5 charge if you want room service. There are a number of restaurants within the resort but only two in the resort hotel, one of which does not open until 7pm. You can however eat in the bar area. Breakfast is amazing, such a selection! The resort is a tad expensive but you do get what you pay for! many hotel staff could learn a thing or two here about how to treat a Guest and not a customer!

Room Tip: Not telling, so I can have my favourite!

The celtic manor is a quality hotel but we were unlucky with the allocated room. It was a very small attic room with a large pillar in the middle which restricted the use of the room and made it difficult for 2 adults to move around comfortably. We did not ask to change as were with a group all on the Same floor but still consider the room for the price to have been poor. The bathroom was also small and not of the standard I would expect from a 5 star hotel. The service was excellent particularly the concierge who could not have been more helpful. I was also disappointed that I was unable to use the spar as the treatments were all fully booked. Food was good both at breakfast, and in the sports bar and at the large dinner we attended

Room Tip: The manor is cheaper as it is rated as a separate hotel with only 4 stars but in essence it is the s...

We visited this hotel on a Friday and took advantage of the end of the week with a 'champagne in the room' deal - great idea.

The hotel is certainly impressive but as you arrive via the car park, you see the back end before the main foyer which is unusual.

The room was overlooking the back of the hotel - lovely view and we had a balcony. The room and the bathroom were roomy. We went to the Spa - lovely pool, not too busy and the large oblong jacuzzi style area was relaxing.

The Terry M taster menu was delicious as was the wine taster to go with it and we had some delicious food and lovely wines to go with each course. Expensive but worth doing once.

Breakfast, however, was disappointing. There were loads of people milling around, other guests sitting at tables only a couple of feet away from ours - barely enough room to get through without having to stay excuse me. Not a hope for a quiet start to the day. There were a lot of staff but the food seemed to disappear before our eyes and I felt the staff found it difficult to keep up with maintaining the level of food required for all the guests.

Despite this, the stay was very enjoyable and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: choose one with a balcony if travelling during good weather season as it's nice to sit out

I have stayed here many times, paying full price and also when there are deals. Excellent value for money when the hotel isn't full and they offer a dinner, bed and breakfast rate! The rooms are fab and the beds are so comfy we had to force ourselves to leave in order to eat. We have also had room service as we were too chilled to get ready for the restaurant! It feels like a total escape from the outside world from the moment you leave the car!
The pool is nice and quiet after 7pm and very relaxing. The service is excellent, nothing seems too much trouble and if you enjoy being waited upon, this is the place.

Stayed for two with a group on a corporate golfing trip. Service from event manager, golf coordinator, and hotel staff was first class. Transport around the resort is efficient and the drivers are friendly and helpful. We had a suite over looking the front of the hotel and one of the courses which was beautifully appointed - even had Nespresso machine. The food was superb in the hotel and The Lodge.

I hadn't stayed here for years and having read some of the recent reviews was a little concerned about what I would get.
Overall it was rather good, though is looking a little dated, especially in the bedrooms.
The staff were mostly very good and well trained, though there was a bit of standing round chatting in the breakfast serving rather than getting out with the coffee pots.
It is a huge hotel and has huge conferences, which is why I was there. It would be worth checking what is going to be held there if you are going so you don't get crowded out of the bar by noisy delegates, or need to wait for AGES for the lifts.

Also as it is a golf resort you may be offended, as I was, by the sight of middle aged men in pink or tiger striped, cut- off golf trousers. You have been warned.

Room Tip: The higher the better.
