This was booked for a family birthday. The main restaurant is situated upstairs reached by an extremely steep staircase which was a problem for two elderly members of our party. The restaurant was empty upon our arrival but another party arrived shortly after. The young staff (a young lady and young man) were very pleasant, took our drinks order but only brought four (one of which was wrong) and I had to go collect the fifth as it had been 'forgotten'. We ordered meals off the Sunday menu and the choices were good. Our starters were average and the main course was poor. The vegetables were overcooked and bland, meat and fish were ok, roast potatoes were very well done to the point of being hard and the knives were blunt which made it difficult to cut anything. At the end of the main course we were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu, to which we said yes. We asked for coffee (no choice) and they arrived but no dessert menu. After finishing our coffees, which were the type you'd get from a service station machine, we were asked if we wanted dessert; we declined. Unfortunately we won't be visiting again.
