I go to aqua aerobics on a thursday, it costs £4.00 per session and is fab, its about 45 minutes and the music is pumping, instructor is good, and really makes you feel at ease and makes working out enjoyable :)

I've also been to a childrens party last october which i also thought was fab, it was softplay and the kids loved it, food was good except they all ended up with dyed red faces off the cheap ketchup, but other than that, cant fault the place :)

I feel I had to come to the defence of the leisure centre. Yes, its old and dated but I have always found the staff first class in being helpful and attentive. I visit evey year for the snooker and occasionally for gigs, the pool etc. The cafe and bar do leave a lot to be desired even for basic food and alcohol - worth going elsewhere in the city centre. However, the venue overall is certainly not bad.

The city centre itself - well, unfortunately its become far too much in Cardiff's shadow in the last decade at least. A lot of blame must go to the Assembly for pouring money at Cardiff (I am from there) while leaving Newport to rot. The last few years have seen never ending building work, mass shop closures and undesirables increasing in the streets. It is now so far in decline it would seem beyond saving

Not good for shopping, they are now in out of town centres. lots of traffic lights and bus lanes, very confusing. Transporter bridge is worth a visit. Most other tourist site are around the outside of the town.

This leisure centre is outdated, unfriendly and on and on and on - 1st impressions - reception staff who don't acknowledge you, rather talk to each other, not customer service what so ever!
The whole leisure centre hasn't really changed much since the 1980's, run down, out dated
The swimming pool has a rusty old slide with a lick of paint, the wave machine (well if you want to call it that) is a waste of time putting on, the lifeguards need some happy pills and so on.
Don't bother with the cafe, person serving didn't want to be there and food is overpriced cr#p.
Do yourself a favour - go to Cardiff or Swansea (a much better fun pool experience)

Have been loads of times as always have found the same thing.... Great pool, clean changing rooms, great concert venue.... Oily food in cafe and VERY rude staff!!!!

I decided to review today after being completely ignore at reception for a good few minutes whilst I was waiting to pay, this isn't the first time it's happened either, So annoyed!

Walked through the doors, wanting to pay for swimming, there's two staff on reception one dark hair and glasses, one older with short blonde hair. The one was chatting to a staff member of the gym over the counter, completely ignores me, and they weren't talking about work, it was chit chat, the other receptionist was talking to another female who had just paid for something, seemed like they knew each other as again they were taking general chit chat! There was quite a big queue at this point, I was stood there smiling politely, making it more then obvious I was waiting, but still they continued!

Staff there seem in no rush to help you, even the cafe staff and pool staff are on a complete 'go slow', no motivation at all, just rude, full of one word answers or responses.

Food in the place is awful, poor selection and greasy as anything! Chicken burger and chips was expensive for a cafe, and I could squeeze a teaspoon of grease out of each and every chip I swear!

Only local pool with a slide and waves so my kids love it and I have to go, otherwise I really wouldn't bother, it's like the staff are personally bothered by the fact your there. Awful!
