Don't get me wrong. We've eaten at langland's quite a few times now and the food is always good. It's not a gastronomic experience but it is good quality and dependable. It is, however, expensive for the fare on offer (being the only full restaurant in the bay) and isn't a relaxed environment. It is busy and the staff, while polite, are not there to make you feel special! What pushed me towards "very good" over "average" (in fact it is "good") was that if you get a table on the beach side of the restaurant (or outside on a warm night), Langland Bay makes a spectacular back drop to your evening. We'll go back - not especially for the food but for the venue itself. The prices just mean that we won't go as frequently as we might.

Sit outside in the sun & enjoy a fantastic large cappuccino and custard slice. Main courses a little variable in our 2 experiences & whilst some staff are very friendly and helpful, some of the waiters can be a bit too business like & not very hospitable. I sometime get the impression this place is trying to be more up market than it could be with the sort of menu they offer.

Five of us booked for lunch last saturday and turned up on time. We were shown to an outside table, as requested (we had two dogs with us - which were allowed). There was a sand bucket full of ( last night's?) cigarette butts under this table, which I removed myself.

The orders are taken at a counter inside and the first course came promptly. It was good; not spectacular. The dessert was a challenge. Two of us ordered chocolate fondants, which, we were told, had a ten minute cooking time. These came but then the other three didn't come at all. We went to ask and eventually they appeared. They'd simply been forgotten. No apology was received. All was matter of fact.

Cigarettes play another part. As you approach the restaurant, the cooks sit smoking outside the kitchen on up-turned crates. That's off-putting. Anyway, why were they sitting there at 1230 on a busy saturday lunchtime?

This restaurant is in an idyllic location and it was full when we left at 230 pm. But we felt no connection with the people running it. They should at least talk to the customers; they mustn't assume that people will just keep on coming back. The staff don't look happy and proud of their jobs. The boss of this restaurant, whoever he or she is (I never saw anyone who looked in charge) should grip the brigade. Customer service is less than good.

If the food had been as bad as the service, I'd have rated this place poor. But I rate it average; they can do better if they try.

We have been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years and have always had an excellent meal with excellent service, and tonight was no exception. There is always a great atmosphere and the location, with views over Langland Bay, is second to none. There is a good choice of dishes on the menu with something for everyone. We will definitely be continuing to eat here.

We'd booked a table for midday for 8 adults and a high chair. We arrived on time and were greeted by the most disinterested front of house woman I've ever encountered. She evidently wasn't happy in her work and didn't want to be there or have to deal with customers. Add to that two young waiters who, I can only assume, were evidently on their first day and the ambience of the venue was completely spoilt. If the management care at all they seriously need to train their staff.
It's not cheap to eat here although the food we had was very good. As I stated at the start we had booked our table but on arrival no seating had been prepared for our relatively large party. Not only did we have to wait for three tables to be moved together (when we arrived the inside seating was empty) and cuttlery to be placed but when our wine arrived it came without glasses!
Overall Langland's Brasserie is just about OK for a cup of coffee (be prepared to wait a long time for it to be delivered to your table) but until they change front of house and train their staff properly stick to taking a picnic on to the beach!
