Description: Maddocks' Tea Room is now closed. We would like to thank visitors for their custom, support and kind words over the last 6 years. We will treasure many happy moments spent in the Tea Room with our customers. We are looking forward to our retirement together. Maddocks' Tea Room on the Gower Peninsula. We are all about using the best quality ingredients and wherever possible local produce. All items are homemade and freshly prepared on our premises. We offer warm friendly service and traditionally cooked cakes, pastries, breakfasts, luncheon items and afternoon teas. Maddocks' Tea Room is the perfect place on Gower to enjoy a hearty meal or delicious cakes with quality leaf teas and freshly ground coffees. Many customers stock up on a favourite cake or sandwich item before setting out on a lengthy coastal ramble along the cliffs to one of the nearby sandy beaches including Three Cliffs bay or to relax and 'refuel' for their journey home.

A lovely cafe which has good quality food and drink at reasonable prices. You are always served with a smile. Only complaint is they aren't open all week!

“Old-Fashioned Customer care!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Called into Maddocks' Coffee Shop, Southgate, Gower for a light lunch & hot drink - it was excellent. Not only were the staff welcoming but the food purchased was well presented, very tasty and reasonably priced. There was no pressure for customers to leave once the meal was finished and payment was due only prior to leaving - what a refreshing change ! All in all the visit was a great experience and one that will be repeated next time my wife and I visit the area.

“Day Trip Delight :) :) :)”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

.Took my grandparents out for a day trip to the Gower and during the planning phase we spotted Maddocks via reviews on here.

Im happy to say the actual place more than lived up to the excellent reviews.
From the outside it looked small but cozy and when we got inside it felt very homely with a great atmosphere.

We ordered 4 coffees of varying types along with homemade scones, toasted bara brith and welshcakes laden with welsh whiskey. All the food was homemade (with the exception of the clotted cream) and amongst the best of each type any of us have ever tried.
The scones were especially nice, hot and freshly baked they were simply amazing.

The staff were friendly and quite obviously proud of their achievements, and the prices whilst not cheap were more than reasonable .

Its a fair way from our home area of Cardiff but we will be back for sure

I love living in swansea and bekng lucky enough to go here on a weekend of choice followed by nice walk along coastal path to walk off the cake. Views from surrounding areas are truely superb.
