Swansea Marriott Hotel

A good quality hotel with large very comfortable rooms with at least 1 king size bed. Restaurant/bar had good food although menu could have a larger choice but the fixed meal menu was changed on a monthly basis. Surprised why popular dishes were dropped the following month and not allowed to roll forward. Breakfast good selection with the opportunity to order extra items (foc) not under the standard hot lamps. Has a swimming pool and fitness area (which could be larger but can have a pass to local leisure centre to use instead). Free parking with good location for the city by walking and located by the Marina and beach. The hotel is quiet at night ensuring a good nights sleep. All the staff were very attentive and will generally accommodate personal request. Room broadband provided is expensive unless you are a Gold Member when free.
Stayed here for under two years (Monday to Thursday) and found it home from home with no problem in recommending this hotel to others.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a stag do.
Nice warm greeting from the receptionist who checked us In promptly. Easy lift access to all floors, and ours was on second floor.
Room was very spacious with two kingsize beds, tv and tea/coffee facilities.
Breakfast was included in room rate and consisted of buffet style for English breakfast and also had continental buffet too. Also a range of pastries and food made to order.
Hotel is next to the marina and beach and about a 10 minute walk to town, 20 min walk to railway station.
Overall great stay and would come back.

I stayed here with a colleague in business and the hotel has clearly had a bit of investment to improve and modernise the decor. The room was a standard one and spacious enough but it was clear that the refit was superficial (eg old aircon unit was boxed in under the window and had to have the lid lifted to turn on.

Now, despite its age, the aircon was perfectly functional and kept the room nicely cooled (a too-warm hotel room is one of my big bugbears). I used the pool which was average, a bit small but good to have. The gym area is just a small cornered off area of the poolside - adequate but no treadmill which is odd.

What let the hotel down, however, was its service - I ordered room service and was told that the menu in the room was 'out of date' and had to wait for a new one which didn't match the original. This is really poor as the hotel control the room information.

Then, at breakfast the service was a joke - a huge queue had formed as they clearly hadn't got enough staff on (or organised) and weren't cleaning tables. We waited and were shown a table after 15 mins and then our table was given away to another group! It was clear they the hotel is set up only for tour groups who just walked past the queue and sat down.

I remarked on this at checkout and was just met with a feeble 'sorry' - I wouldn't stay here again by choice (I may try the Village hotel down the road). A convenient but average hotel with poor staff and service.

We (a family of 4) stayed here for 4 nights at the start of July. We were on a leisure break and enjoyed the Swansea heat wave.

We were on the fourth floor and had a view of the beach and marina. Room was clean as a whistle and bathroom and shower excellent. Beds were good and air conditioning worked.

Breakfast was the usual fayre but with waffles/pancakes and maple syrup on demand. Special thanks to Louise in the kitchen who looked after us brilliantly with loads of fresh waffles.

The pool was clean and really quiet which suited my 2 girls well. I lost a gold necklace there but thanks to Daniel who hunted the filters, it was found. Glad about this as it was a birthday present. When Daniel found out it was my birthday he brought up a wee surprise from the kitchens. Thanks Daniel!!!

As u can see service in this hotel is amazing and I would recommend to anyone thinking of a few days in Swansea.

I stayed at the Swansea Marriott regularly between November 2011 and March 2013 while on business in Swansea. Having stayed in other hotels I have no doubt that, in my opinion, the Marriott is the best in town. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble - even to the point of putting me in the same room whenever possible.

The rooms are a little on the small size but comfortable and clean as one would expect from a Marriott. The restaurant is small but the food is generally good - if a little bit expensive for Swansea. The restaurant staff make every effort to meet your requirements both at breakfast and dinner.

The only real drawback is the gym and pool which are both very small. If they were a bit larger I would rate this hotel as "Excellent"

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Mumbles. It's a short drive and was a great base for beach trips.
There is a great LONG walkway just outside the hotel that goes along the beach (not a swimming beach), which we enjoyed. There is also a marina very close with lots of coffee/ice cream/pubs to eat at. It's a newly gentrified area and they've done a great job!
Tesco is also a short walk away.
Our stay included buffet breakfast, which was great. Not sure if breakfast is always included?
Parking was free, if you ask.
Staff were amazing- we checked in early and they were very apologetic that our room was not ready..... we were VERY early....!
I can see some visitors comments about the noise if there is a wedding going on. The smoking area is out front of the hotel and people gather there and are quite loud..... but our room was on the other side of the building so it didn't bother us.
Pool and sauna were great too.
