We were visiting Swansea to attend a family wedding. The reception was being held in the Marriot so it seemed convenient to book an overnight stay. We had a large double room overlooking the wonderful marina. We enjoyed the experience wholeheartedly. The management and staff were chiefly local residents of this city of such natural beauty. They certainly went out of their way to make our stay memorable. A huge thank you to them all..

Had a lovely spacious, clean room with great view over the marina. Breakfast was great with a particularly hard working and efficient egg chef!

Two niggles would have to be:
- the exorbitant charge for wifi in the room (£6/hour or £15 per 24 hours) and
- running the gauntlet of wedding guests and smokers to get into the hotel (not a great first impression)

Room Tip: Ocean and marina view rooms available

Stayed here as a family; room clean and staff very friendly. But hotel was very warm and rooms did not appear to have any air conditioning, which was needed. Pool facilities okay. Restaurant standard fare but care - we offered our room card for proof of room number but found our bill heavily loaded by others. Why? Also, had pre-paid room via Bookers.com but we were also bIlled for the stay too? Check your bill carefully.

We were visiting Swansea with our son to attend the University open day and decided to stay two nights to get a feel for Swansea itself. The hotel is in a great location, at the end of the marina and beside the beach, our room overlooked both. The hotel staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and all the way through our stay, we've never been made to feel so welcome in a marriott in the uk! For those visiting swansea to meet up with their family studying at the university it is walkable, too us under an hour, walking slowly along the sea front, especially as no parking at the university. The food was great, however the atmosphere in the restaurant was a little lacking, possibly due to the sports team staying at the hotel the same time as us and choosing to eat at the same time. The restaurant was loud! Did spoil our evening meal a little. Breakfasts was extremely busy and we sat in the bar area but the service was great and there was a good selection on hot food and continental. We would certainly stay agin.

We stayed two nights in one of the 'larger' guest rooms with the Marina View. It was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. There was 24 hours free wifi available in the public areas of the hotel but paid wifi in the room. We very much enjoyed an early morning swim and jacuzzi in the health club. All the staff were both efficient and exceptionally good humoured and friendly, which gave this hotel a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Staff members seemed to work well as a team and get on well with each other. This hotel is in an ideal location for visiting Mumbles and the beautiful Gower Peninsular, as well as being close to the city centre, shopping and museums, particularly the Dylan Thomas Centre. We shall look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Swansea.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Marina are great . . .

I stayed here with friends on 2nd August. Room was pleasant enough and staff friendly. Only one disappointing part and that was the bar shut early even to guests and as my friends and I were out at Eisteddfod until gone ten thirty we were looking forward to having a couple of drinks and a catch up.

Last minute situation forced us to obtain a booking. Every detail was smooth and easy. Staff coordinated the transition and could not be more efficient and pleasant. Location is central plus scenic. Add to that the Starbucks. Magnificent.
