We have just returned from a two night stay here to celebrate our sapphire anniversary and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room was large and clean. We went on a ps.i love you package which was extremely good value and included champagne and chocolates. The breakfasts are well cooked and presented and Vivienne gives you a warm welcome and is very attentive nothing is too much trouble which is a pleasant trait in this day and age. Only tiny niggle was no cold water in the basin which didn't bode well for cleaning teeth!! The meals in the brasserie are again well presented and extremely tasty. Definitely will warrant a return visit

Room Tip: Room 517 is towards the back/side and lovely and quiet

Congratulations on your Sapphire Anniversary! We're delighted that we were able to play a small part in your celebrations, and thank you for taking the time to write your review. I can but apologise for the hot water situation - such a bizarre plumbing problem took us a little while to correct, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.

I have had the pleasure of staying here on many occasions on business and in my opinion, is the best place to stay in Swansea. It is convenient for all amenities within the city i.e. Wind St and various restaurants. The hotel staff are very smart, polite and very professional. There are great amenities within the hotel too and the rooms are immaculate albeit noisy as the main road passes nearby with traffic and emergency vehicles with their sirens if you get the picture.
The food is superb but a bit on the expensive side as are the drinks but it is a great hotel all the same - immaculate in its presentation and cleanliness second to none. Breakfast is outstanding as are the waiting staff. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are great - no preference.

My family and visited The Dragon Hotel 17/11/13. We were in Swansea to see the Christmas Parade and the switching on of the Christmas tree and street lights. The streets were lined by people 3 deep from the roadside so it was difficult to get a good view especially for my mother who was in a wheelchair. As we approached the main square I noticed this impressive looking Hotel with floor to ceiling windows on the first floor. I realized that this would be a brilliant viewpoint so I went inside and asked the manager if we could go there to watch the parade. The manager was named Kelly and she really was lovely, she agreed to my request and afterwards, being so impressed by the place I decided to write this review.

The first floor where we looked out over the square and giant Christmas Tree was in fact a spacious bar-room, the tables and chairs were like new, the decor was modern, the whole place smacked of class. The hallways were the same with lush carpets and a warm ambiance. The reception area and all the staff we spoke to were extremely warm and friendly and since we love both the town of Swansea and the nearby bay and town of Mumbles, I knew that when we next stay overnight in the area - this is the place we will be heading for!

On arriving back home my wife and I went straight to the computer and to the TripAdvisor website to see the pictures and read the reviews of The Dragon Hotel Swansea. Having done so, I have to agree with all the good things I read - this is a brilliant hotel where you can fall out of bed and into the the bright lights of a great city.

The price of B&B given to us there & then was even less per couple per night in a superior double room than the £75 which was advertised online, but it seems to me that with the obvious quality of the place this is well worth it.

We stayed there for a week. They gave us room with really filthy bathroom, there was mould around the bath. Double bed is made of two single mattresess so middle of the bed wasn't comfortable. Bathroom door handle snaped off. TV was blurry. Staff were helpfull. Would not recommend.

Room Tip: Don't go there.

Three nights on business. Arrived Sunday. Very quiet, though I guess that's normal! Had a meal with colleagues in The Brasserie (see restaurant reviews!), which was very good. Room clean, pleasant. Good shower, tea/coffee and biscuits. Staff pleasant. Nice selection for the Continental breakfast with cooked options. Foyer clean and bright. Excellent central location. Room (overlooking the front of the hotel) seemed to be a bit noisy (couldn't see why as at 3am, there's no traffic outside!) but that didn't detract from a pleasant stay.

Had a one night stop and ran a training session here.
Rooms are ok but very tired. Staff are mixed - some very helpful, others much less so. Reception staff were particularly lack lustre!
The meal in the brasserie was good. Tasty food and it a bad price. Lacked a bit if atmosphere though. Not somewhere you'd go for a romantic meal or a good night out, but good enough if staying over.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We came in the back entrance and felt underwhelmed, however the reception was lovely. The two female receptionists were helpulful, polite and friendly.

Room was average at best, it was stuffy and small. Bathroom was clean but the shower was useless.

The worst thing was how uncomfortable the bed was! We kept rolling into the middle.

We payed for breakfast, it was nice but the staff were arguing... And quite rude.

The piano bar was always shut and the lounge staff were either not there, or rude. They clearly were not up for any chit chat.

Overall it was an ok stay. Parking is a bit of an issue but you can park in the ncp for a discounted rate
