“Beautiful beach”

We accessed this beach by a walk through a wood, onto sand dunes and a scurry down a bank, straight onto the beach from Nicholaston Farm Camp Site and all I can say is it is the most perfect beach. Warm, golden sand leading to the sea which is shallow a good way out. Ou daughter had a whale of a time whilst we played Scabble! Hard to beat.

Take the South Gower road, turn left at what looks like a crumbling castle.
Winding narrow road down the hill, so take care.
For the main beach, the carpark is on the left near the hotel - reasonable price, if you stay for the day (if only staying for an hour, try negotiating)...
Pebbles at the top, but it soon opens up to a beautiful beach that will have enchanted and wanting to return many times. It's clean sand and the water is warm.
Coal House beach restaurant looks nice, although we didn't eat there.
When you discover Oxwich, you'll long to go back.

Oxwich bay hotel right on the doorstep of the beach. Good for lunches but on this occasion a stop for morning coffees overlooking a deserted beach on a lovely day

Fantastic beach and dog friendly. Best we have been to in the UK. The water was very warm never known this before in the UK.

Oxwich bay is a huge sweeping bay where you can walk for miles with uninterrupted views. Car Parking is from the beach (£4) and there is a boat slip so you don't have to struggle getting your kit up the sand dunes. Great for kayaking. The recently converted 'coal house' into a beach restaurant gives you more choice than the pub or kiosk. Recent storms had pushed a lot of sand/shingle off the beach, hopefully someone will pull it back onto the beach before summer arrives.
