Just come back from a one night stay at The Alexander and what a little gem of a place. The host Heino made me feel very welcome, right from the off. My room was a single which could
in most other places I've stayed been charged as a double, the room was very clean as was the
bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was a great way to set yourself up for the day and nothing seemed like too much trouble.
The Alexander is situted in an ideal position with good facilities on the doorstep, yes no parking which was abit of a pain but I for one will be going back to stay in the next few months.

Just got back from a one night stay at the Alexander in The Uplands, Swansea.
What a delightful little place this is. Behind the unassuming front door is a very warm welcome from the host, which is always a good start.
We were given the choice of two rooms, though I'm sure they are all of the same high standard. The room had lovely modern décor, comfortable bed and a good choice of toiletries, including cotton wool and cotton buds. There is also a free standing mirror and desk lamp, what a bonus, because there is nothing worse than having a mirror but poor lighting available to do your make up by. Good for the ladies.
There is a good choice of tea, coffee making facilities including a mini cafetiere for fresh coffee if you wish.
Plenty of fresh towels are available in the rooms and extra bedding if required.
The accommodation has been very well thought out with lots of little extras in the room you don't normally get in large chain hotels. A very nice little touch.
Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and there is also a good choice of cereals, juices etc.
I would definitely recommend The Alexander and will definitely stay here again if I come to Swansea for more family occasions.

Room Tip: Can only vouch for room number five which was excellent.

This is a hotel run by people who seem to have thought of everything a guest might need. Greeted by the owner who gave a warm welcome and shown to a lovely room with a real bath, not just a shower. The room (1) was spotlessly clean, warm and the TV was a decent size. The bed was very comfortable. It was also nice and quiet being at the back. There is a guest lounge with bar. there is a fridge and microwave on the landing for guests. Breakfast is great and if you can think of something, it will be available.
I had to park 100 metres away from the hotel as there are parking restrictions in the vicinity due to the junction and shops nearby. This is really the only downside of this super hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back away from the road are quieter.

Have stayed a few times now. Really convenient for uplands nightlife and being close to university without being on top of it. As others have said the real draw here are the owners who keep the place spotless and have a real welcoming feel. Nice place - easy decision to return.

Hotel itself was very nice, quite clean and facilities were very good. Breakfast was excellent. However, the bed was a very thin mattress and pretty uncomfortable.......not that I got much sleep, the traffic noise outside was incredible and once I did get off to sleep and was sort of dozing I was startled awake by the noise of sirens right outside the window. The room was right outside the pelican crossing and there seemed to be people talking outside the room for most of the night. I could also hear the very loud tv in the room above me. Sorry to be so negative but when you have a full days work the next day it was really annoying!!!!!
