I usually stay with another chain hotel but decided to give the Ibis a chance for a change and found it over all quite disappointing. The room and corridors were tastefully decorated and in good condition. Linen was very basic and on turning the pillows over we found hair and fluff but only one pillow each so we were unable to swap them. The bathroom was clean and well designed, the shower was great, although the extractor did not work and the toilet felt like it was about to fall off the wall every time it was sat on!
The main thing that let this hotel down was a combination of the noise and the room temperature. Granted the hotel is on a main road but you would expect a better level of sound proofing. It was impossible to sleep with the window open with so much traffic. On the other hand, there were no air vents or fans in the room and being a really hot few days, the room was very stuffy so the nights were very uncomfortable.
I'm sure if we were to request a room facing away from the road it would be a different story but for the money we paid for this room we felt quite let down.

Room Tip: Request a room facing away from the main road, at the front of the hotel.

We stayed recently for one night on our way to the ferry to Ireland. The hotel was modern, bright and very comfortable we did not have the opportunity to use the restaurants or bar, however we can say that it appeared to be the usual high standard that you mostly get from Ibis. The staff were friendly, helpful and very polite. The location was good as it's located just behind the main road to the centre. Value for money was as usual excellent especially if you are a Le Club member and have accumulated the points to use towards your stay.

Have stayed in Ibis hotels before, and although basic, are generally good value for money. This one was no exception, and we had a very good deal on a 3 night stay that included breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this included a full English breakfast, and as much as you wanted. We ate in the hotel each evening and found the food to be good, and very reasonably priced. Staff all friendly, and particular thanks to Michele and Anita, who made our stay very welcoming. Thanks ladies. We stayed mid week, so unable to comment on previous a previous review concerning noisy behaviour on a Fri/Sat night. Rooms were clean, as was reminder of hotel. Only 2 bath towels supplied. Would have been nice to have had a hand towel as well. Overall a very nice stay and a lot cheaper than some other hotels.
