“Welcoming hosts”

We booked two rooms for an overnight stay for our daughter's graduation. The hotel was easy to find and there was parking on the street, the owner even moved his car to make it easier for us to park! The hosts couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, we were shown to our rooms where all the facilities were explained to us and they were also able to offer excellent advice on where to go for a meal and drinks. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Breakfast in the morning was great with a good variety of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts and a hearty cooked breakfast.

Certainly worth a visit

We stopped at the Mirador for one night on the way home to break a long journey up. It was a toss-up between a faceless chain hotel or for only a few pounds more you could stay in one of the most fun themed guest houses you could ever wish to visit. I feel we fell very lucky finding this little gem with very attentive hosts. Phil was very welcoming and full of information about the local amenities and where to eat. He is very outgoing and definitely a 'front of house' person who loves his gadgets :) His lovely wife cooked the most amazing breakfast with a tremendous choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juices and that was before you got to the cooked breakfast you had chosen the night before. You definitely will not starve...

We stopped in Room 2 which was the Venetian theme. The attention to detail is truly amazing. Everywhere you look there is something else to catch your eyes and they have been very clever to give this room lots of levels of lighting. It is on the bottom floor and there is a small window which is divided horizontally between the main room and the bathroom so here is little natural light. This however gives it a very romantic feel and perfect for the choice of theme. There is the most well stocked condiments tray I have ever come across with oodles of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, biscuits and sweeties and masses of milk, very generous indeed.

The are it is situated is in the Uplands which is a small stretch of bars and restaurants. We were there on a very busy Friday night and it was just buzzing with a great vibe.

I would not hesitate to come back here if I am in the area again. This is a fabulous place with so much character and fun and the attention to detail is magnificent.

Instantly made to feel comfortable on arrival, cosy rooms with a great design. Phil gave a great insight on the local restaurants and attractions. The variety of dvds was a nice addition. As for breakfast, possibly the best I have had- the amount of choice is fantastic. Only downside/improvements I can think of is maybe an addition of a fan on bottom floor room (number 2) due to there only being a very small window in bathroom and entering room was like a sauna. Also the ensuite bathroom felt like the whole building could hear you in it as it was plastic walled (I think). Would defiantly be returning in future visits to swansea, would highly recommend.

First of all, note this is not a four star hotel. It is a guesthouse. The guesthouse is in a neighborhood that has plenty of restaurants and small stores around. There is a beautiful park nearby that is nice for strolling, bringing the kids, having a rest, or jogging. We had the Egyptian room at the Mirador. It was clean with a big bed, couch, small desk, tv, mini fridge, tea kettle, lots of local pamphlets and a map of Swansea. A window faces out to the residential street of terraced homes. There is a standing floor fan in case it gets warm (no overhead fan). There was loads of coffee, tea, and liquid creamer in the room. Even hot chocolate, which my son enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent and even had veggie sausages on the menu! Breakfast can be ordered as large or small as you want it-if you want 4 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, and 4 pieces of toast, you can. Phil and Jeanette were extremely helpful. I had to send a duffel bag back to the USA. Pick up couldn't happen until the day I left and was scheduled for anytime between 9-6. Phil and Jeanette agreed to make sure they were there so the bag could be picked up. They also printed out loads of paperwork that was needed to send the bag back. Just shows how helpful they are. One note-the stairs in the interior are steep (as they are in all the terraced homes I've ever been in); mobility challenged people should probably request the room on the ground floor.

Stayed Sunday evening. great welcome, spotlessly clean, we took the Egyptian theme and loved the room. Custom breakfast of choice and top quality through and through.

Selection of nice Restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: Just enjoy, doubt you will do better elsewhere given the price and quality.

I stayed at this amazing town house for 2 nights, I have so many great things to say about my stay, first I was offered a FREE upgrade (to the french room, which was lovely) second Janette was very kind and allowed my dog to stay out on the patio area & third Phil moved his car for me upon arrival so I could park near the house. The breakfast was really well cooked & tasty, the house is decorated amazingly, also a great DVD selection to choose from. My room was lovely & clean, also plenty of towels & toiletries. The house is in a great location, so close to the beach & local pubs/restaurants & a nice park is just round the corner too. Phil & Janette are really lovely people and make you feel so much at home, I really enjoyed my stay & would recommend it to everybody!!

Room Tip: All the rooms so amazing, but the French room has a patio area which is great for enjoying the eveni...
