We went on the spur of the moment from a recommendation and were not disappointed! The food served was all freshly cooked to a high standard and the presentation of each course was very good. The have a good menu but the price of buying fresh food each day is that they will run out of the popular dishes later in the evening - never mind there is plenty of alternative choice. Good food takes time to cook so if you are one of those people who expects to be in and out in an hour - forget it and go to a chain restaurant! If you want to sit and enjoy a nice relaxed meal in typical pub surroundings. Sadly now I have discovered it they are closing after Thursday 10th July for refurbishment and are planning a re-opening on August Bank Holiday 2014. I hope that the result will still retain the delightful village pub feel and I was told the menu would be as good if not even better.
