After reading the reviews on here I was extreamly worried about staying here but was presently surprised.

We stayed for a weekend (had 2 rooms there was 3 of us) our plan was just to stay here to go out and get drunk in Swansea. The hotel was clean and tidy could do with a little modernisation but is well equipped was very clean with the beds made daily and the room cleaned.

The manager was lovely very friendly and offered advise on where to go.

At first glance the room seemed quaint but on closer inspection all was revealed. It was filthy. There were hairs on the concrete shelf by the bed, food on the carpet by the bedside table, thick dust on a bed rail and top of picture. The worst however was the thick mould in the corner of the shower; in fact we couldn't bear to step in the shower.
The bed linen was clean but there were two holes in a pillow case. There was also what looked like a blood stain on one of the curtains.
Very basic guest tray.
The breakfast was basic. You didnt have a choice of wholemeal bread and the hot drinks were out of a machine though actually the latte was ok.
I would never stay here again

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights a few weekends ago. The owner is a very friendly chap who had no problem arranging breakfast at 6.45am for our group. The hotel could certainly do with some updating but for the price we paid (£18 a night) we could not complain. If you are really strapped for cash and need a bed and a reasonable breakfast then stay here but for an extra £10 per night you'll find another hotel within 100m that is much better.

The only good thing:

The owner and son were friendly. Willing to give directions and advice.

The bad things:

Where to start?
The decor definately needs an update. You have to go through the family living room to enter the guest rooms and the owners smoke so it doesn't smell too great. They also have a dog which adds to the smell and uncleanliness.
The rooms were horrid. A makeshift ensuite ensembled in the corner, which was tiny and obviously built by cowboys.
We paid for a double room but we had a twin and the two single beds were tiny. There was a sofa bed in the corner of the room which was revolting. Covered in stains (wouldn't like to think what they were) and holes. Carpet was filthy so was the bedding.
dirty tea/cofee making facilities. Big hole in ceiling.

A right dump. I wouldn't let a rat stay in here. Do not stay here, you have been warned.
