“Predictable and comfortable”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I have been on a long term contract and have been staying at The Village during the week for 6 months- the hotel is ideally situated if you fancy a stroll through to the main attraction, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff are excellent.
They have a large, very good bar which always shows the latest sports- and when the weather is good enough (not often) then the bar spreads out into the sunshine, and a good indicator of its popularity is the number of locals frequenting it.
The breakfast fare is very good indeed, and the food in the bar and restaurant is always well prepared.
There is also the added benefit of an OUTSTANDING gym and indoor swimming pool- free for hotel guests

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the front of the hotel (even numbers) and high up offer the best views

First time in a Village Urban Resort hotel and I am not sure what to make of it. Modernistic approach I suppose, staff seem very laid back, uniform is minimal or maybe I should say relaxed but that doesn't make it bad. Staff were friendly well mannered and helpful, rooms were comfortable and clean with all conveniences. Free WiFi, Free Parking and Free use of Leisure facilities, which are excellent, 25m heated pool, spa, sauna, fitness zone, cardio zone etc.
Food wise I was not impressed with the menu in the main restaurant (Vinny & Vito's) and the food I did order was overcooked to burnt, breakfast was a little better but only just. There is however a better, (pub grub) selection available in the Victory Pub & Kitchen. I do not want to appear negative about this hotel, some aspects were spot on others left a lot to be desired. I would say it was aimed at the younger business set and as such not for me but who knows maybe next time it will bowl me over.

Went with friends for football game and stayed here for 1 night, upgraded for £20 for Upper deck and bed was excellent but rubbish movies so wasn't worth it in the end but not the hotels fault garbage films on Sky!

Di eat in restaurant for dinner and food was okay but nothing special, buffet was on offer but food wasn't piping hot but service was very good. used the bar which was quite busy and again found service very good. Breakfast was fine , ran out of a few items but were all replenished just normal busy periods at a weekend.

Odd location in that very quiet despite in a new development, about 15 - 20 minute walk into Swansea centre but quite pleasant through the newly developed area.

Wives used gym and spa while blokes at the footie, really enjoyed the facilities.

Slight mix up checking out when our friends had been charged for a couple of items which had not had, mix up by hotel staff so bit of training required and just check your bills but handled well by staff on duty.

All in all a decent stay and if back next season will be happy to stay here again, lucky omen as we won!!

Firstly I'm a gym member of Village in Newcastle and often stay around Village hotels in Leeds and Manc. I would usually always notice staff offering room upgrades or at least something extra as a gym member upon check in.
I firmly believe what makes the hotel is the staff and my experience of the reception staff, including the duty manager that night were not good.
I arrived quite late after my sat nag took me down a weird scary route to this hotel so just wanted to hit the gym, get food then go to bed.

Good points:

-The Gym - as expected by this brand of hotel, roomy, air conned gym with good equipment
-The pool - Nice pool
-Rooms and beds - again always top notch with this brand
-Breakfast was lovely and the morning staff were like a different level to my experience at check in the night before. They were very friendly and even had some nice small talk that wasn't typical and felt genuine!

Points they would do better with:

-Snooty and short attitudes from check in staff
-Bar food closed at 10 pm - I had to kick up a fuss to get a simple pub meal rather than an over rich huge restaurant meal. They did in the end but after the drama I would have rather walked across the road to another hotel bar to eat without argument.
-Jacuzzi - My bath is actually bigger. I'm not rich or exaggerating. my bath is bigger.
-Location - there's a lot of development going on so it looks like a building site outside the hotel opposite.

Stayed here 3 nights mid week ... teething problems prior to check in when phoning to make sure my company had paid for the reservation before I set off ... They refused to tell me! Once past that I had a great stay. The staff were friendly throughout the hotel, the gym is fantastic and the room was clean and nice and quiet. Food choice is good, breakfast is great value at 5.95. Wifi is very strong so makes it easy to work when away. Will definitely return.

I stayed one night at the Village but having read several mediocre reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean and quite spacious, staff were welcoming and informative, and the location - just outside the city centre was good for me. As I was visiting freiends, I didn't really use the facilities much other than a late night drink in the Victory pub. All in all a very comfortable stay and I would certainly re-visit

Have visited several village hotels over the years and pretty much get the same at each, good price, free spa use, decent parking. This village a little more tired looking than some I have visited but staff very friendly and helpful. Used the spa, each evening, almost empty each time had sauna, swim, steam room etc. Breakfast ok, had better but also had worse. Nice location on the Marina and only a short stroll into city centre, also regular bus service a short walk away. Had a small problem this visit which I reported at reception, girl on reception said she would get duty manager ( Matt), he came straight away and sorted the issue immediately. Excellent customer service at reception and spa

Room Tip: we stayed on 4th floor, less noise if there is a function on
