“Friendly Belfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

I have been here on several occasions and it's always a pleasant, relaxed experience with really great food at a reasonable, attractive price. Most recently me and two friends went for a casual evening meal. Seated and orders taken with no hassle and drinks served immediately. The manager is extremely helpful and friendly. Really top notch service. I ordered the chicken wings as Ryan's are well renowned for them and they never disappoint. Best wings in Belfast for sure. People go here JUST for these wings. Even better than The Hudson. Believe it. I then had the Chicken Boxty. Being a Fermanagh native, everyone has their own way of the Boxty, and Ryan's is really quite good, even if it's not how mammy would do it! Starter and main or main and dessert for £10 is a fantastic deal and we left feeling full and happy. Would definitely recommend. (And they pour a good Guinness, which is always a good sign).

“Tale of 2 meals”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Visited with the wife last Saturday afternoon. It was between lunch and dinner so the upstairs was empty which was to be expected. We sat down and the waitress handed us our menus, which were covered in a slimy sauce. After a trip downstairs to wash the hands, we ordered our meals. The wife got the goats cheese fritters and I got the Caesar salad. The fritters were really good and I was most jealous as the Caesar salad was terrible. It was served in a tiny soup bowl with very little actual salad to it. Worse still it was really cold like it had been sitting in a chiller from when it was probably made up that morning. Bland and disappointing. My burger and chips were just ok. The chips were a little cold and someone saw fit to put garlic oil all round my plate. I hate garlic and it wasn't on the menu. Wife was happy enough with hers but overall I was very disappointed.

“Springsteen visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

Had a lovely welcome here before and after a Bruce Springsteen concert at Kings Hall. The manager was so helpful and friendly. He found us a table even though it was very busy. The food was excellent and the onion rings were to die for.
Downstairs in the bar the staff were brilliant under pressure. See you next time when in Belfast.

“Very average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

Visited with a group of friends after university on a Friday afternoon. Starter of loaded potato wedges was delicious, the salted caramel cheesecake was divine, but my main course of a chicken burger and chips was bland, soggy, greasy and worse - a bit cold. We did the 2 courses for £10 (split starter and dessert with a friend), and got a cider for £14. Fair enough price but a bit disappointing for what it was, I would be reluctant to return or recommend.
