“Great location but service needs improvement”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

You get what you pay for - this was a very budget friendly option, with a great location close to bars, shopping etc. The bar was actually pretty good here too - lively & good service. My main issues were the water temperature in the shower changed every 10 seconds or so, from freezing to scalding hot, so showering was an unpleasant experience. But my main complaint is the stupid key card NEVER worked. For 3 days I had to keep going back to Reception to get them to "re-set" the key card so I could access my room. Several staff mentioned getting Maintenance to look at it but nobody ever did. I found this extremely annoying. If it was just a 1 night stay it wouldn't have bothered me so much but for 3 days it was extremely frustrating. Breakfast was very good value.

It got off to a bad start when the receptionist gave misleading directions to the car park. After returning twice for clarification, I finally found it, nearly half a mile away by car and in a different street. If they staff don't know where the car park is, they should have a small map to hand out. It's not quite so far on foot (tho still over 1/4 mile) but still hardly qualifies as a 'nearby car park'.

We had booked a twin room but were surprised to see that, instead of splitting the double bed, as is the usual way, they had merely converted the sofa into a second bed.

And I see that other reviewers were bemused to see that, despite there being plenty of space, the washbasin and mirror were out in the room, ie outside the en-suite. Not what you are looking for if two friends book a twin room.

I've used Premier Inns before and, apart from their ridiculously expensive breakfasts, have found them reasonable value. But, after this experience, I think I'll play safe and use a proper hotel instead.

Good breakfast, kind staff at the reception ( especially Andrea and Meave) but I hate carpet and the hotel has carpet all around the place. I loved that there was a shower. They should indicate to customers to keep quiet while walking to their rooms(you can hear everything ). Location is excellent. They should but a small empty fridge if you wish to keep your beverages, etc . Windows are filthy and they don't change bed sheets on a daily basis.

We stayed here during the World Police and Fire Games. Its location was great for enjoying Belfast. It was the hockey field that was a little out of the way, not the hotel. It was on the edge of the retail area and adjacent all of the night life. The good meals were also good value. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

This is a comfortable hotel, conveniently located near the MAC. The breakfast was the best I've had in a Premier Inn; and the chef was really friendly too. The serving staff and housekeeping staff were all lovely. The only disappointment was the check-in. There was a bit of a problem with the booking and the online payment had not been processed. The staff at reception were not very helpful at all and seemed not to be interested in trying to help or to apologise for the situation. A shame, as everything else about our stay was good.

We flew into Dublin took the bus to Belfast city center and then walked to the Premier Inn that was located in the Cathedral Quarter. We were going to do some research at the Public Records Office in Belfast and it was just a short walk to the office from the hotel. The location was ideal because of the shops and dining available and we decided that staying closer to the city was preferable to staying at the Premier that is closest to Titanic Museum because of that reason as well as being closer to walk to once we arrived in Belfast. The room was clean and comfortable but probably needs a little freshening up. We ate breakfast each morning in their restaurant and it was good as well as being good value. We paid 5.25 GBP/person. When we left for England, it was just a short cab ride to the city airport. We could have taken the airport express bus but since it was raining and virtually for nearly the same amount, we had curbside cab service (approximately 6 pounds). The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because it needs a little updating. Area around the hotel was very safe and there is a huge Tesco Express where you can pick up a sandwich if you don't want to go to a restaurant just around the corner. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice central location in Cathedral Quarter so good for local bars and restaurants. My room was a very long walk down a corridor over an internal bridge and into an adjoining building. This was fine for me because it meant I was in a quiet room overlooking a back alley but it is worth checking where your room is before you set off from reception! Slightly unusual set-up in the room in that the toilet and shower are in the bathroom but the sink and mirror are in the bedroom which would not suit everyone. Breakfast buffet was very tasty.
