Good location and if you can get a cheap rate it's worth a try as everything is pretty much walkable - but rooms are not exactly luxurious. It's definitely targeted at tour groups who only stay for one night: hardish bed with no spare pillows or blankets available; the "wardrobe" amounts to two coat hooks with two coat hangers on each, there are no drawers to store bits and bobs and although there's a kettle, supplies are fairly limited and there's no minibar to keep milk or water cool.
Breakfast is even more of a scrum than many similar overnighters - good selection of food but too small a space to wrestle with separate juice, milk and hot drink machines all within 2 feet of each other. You need two goes to get real toast too, as the settings have been turned down too far on the machines.
The food in the restaurant looked OK for real punters who can't face going out (there are several good places nearby) but the poor tour party who had stayed for more than one night seemed to be pretty fed up of "mash + indiscriminate protein" and took most pleasure from turning their bowls upside down to prove how solidly frozen the pink ice cream was. Bar staff are friendly and cocktails at £6 each are worth a try if you can stand the "live" music duo in the evenings but to be honest, you can eat and drink much better by stepping outside a few paces.
Convenient it may be - but don't expect a comfortable home from home.
