Stay here quite regularly mainly for the great staff and hilton points!
As there are so many nice places to eat in Belfast big gripe is cost of food and sides are almost the price of a meal elsewhere
Like other UK Hiltons the executive lounge has almost sunk beyond recognition!
Gone is the full bar service and in with the cheap nasty wine and nibbles
Certainly not worth the extra for an exec room for that!
Hilton watch out people will vote with their feet and take their wallets elsewhere !
No biscuits on the tray in your room ? Even the lower end brands still offer this and surprise surprise the rates have not dropped!
Shame for a 5 star hotel to resort to such cheap skate tactics!
Rooms are lovely staff are great leave it up to you if you think it's worth the £££

Stayed here on a weekend break with the girl friend. I had booked the hotel primarily as I am a Hilton Honors Gold member and as such enjoy various benefits. We arrived early saturday morning off the flight from Edinburgh and the staff where very accommodating storing the luggage and we headed to the hotel restaurant for champagne breakfast. Nice warm service , attentive, no complaints here. Room was made ready around 12 noon and I had booked an Exec room and paid a supplement to try and secure a corner room ( perhaps I would have been upgraded as a result of my Gold Status..although I forgot that!), think they call them 'King Studio'...room 617 ...nice room with floor to ceiling windows outlook to the river, nice spec..bright and airy with good air-conditioning. We didn't dine in the hotel albeit its an easy 5 minute walk into the key shopping/restaurant areas and concierge where great in assisting. Enjoyed room service breakfast the next day and a cheerful friendly checkout. This Hilton has a slightly more corporate coldness than some others I stay at whether on business or leisure however that said all staff I encountered where very friendly and receptive.

Room Tip: King Studio with Exec Lounge Access

This is not a 5 star hotel!
I really don't understand how did they get the 5 star rating. No swimming pool, very small and not comfortable gym (it was too hot and there was no staff that could change ACC settings). Room was very average in size even tough we were upgraded to an executive room.

They charge you £19/day for an internet connection! Seriously, it's XXI century and broadband is widely available. I had been staying in 3 stars hotels and wasn't charged for it. I really found this as a huge disadvantage. On top of this you are being charged £19/day for parking. I think this isn't fair as the hotel room price seems to be lower but adding all of these additional charges makes it quite expensive especially as the standard is not that great.

At the check in we were given no information, just very short info like "this is your room no breakfast is served here". No info about gym or other services.
The housekeeping knocked to our room at 9.30 in the morning so we had to say we do not need it. The Girl however was very nice and asked do we maybe want fresh towels, tea or anything else. I'm sure thy could send her later tho.

The room itself was very hot so we had to keep our window open as even acc didn't help. This wasn't a huge issue as the weather was nice and it wasn't noisy outside but again this should not be happening in a 5 star hotel. The bed was very comfortable and we had nice and quiet night. There were minor issues like only 1 bathrobe in the room for 2 people, 1 glass for wine etc.

The best part of our staying was probably the location, quietness of the hotel and breakfast. There was very nice selection of food, both Irish breakfast and continental, fresh fruit, yogurts, fruit salads, juices etc this however, is not enough to compensate for the cons listed above.

Overall I'm afraid I'd think twice before booking Hilton in Belfast again. I think it's really time for them to think about giving the broadband to their customers free of charge.

This property was part of an tour through Ireland.Well chosen, nice property and great location.
Amazing Front Desk and Concierge .
Well appointed,comfortable rooms.
Maid service poor,no Kleenex, left dirty drinking glasses with content no replenishing of water.Did not exchange spoons, still dirty!
Food, part of a group dinner was excellent.
The only drawback was the Service, very slow and totally disorganized ,close to 3 hours to complete a three course meal!
25 minutes to get a drink.
Our group was about 40 guest with 3 people serving.
Observed in the glass kitchen that the food was plated but not picked up fluently.
Inexperienced, young staff with no apparent Management staff coordinating. Inexcusable for Hilton property!
Otherwise a nice stay, thanks to the Front Desk!

The room was large clean and comfortable but room wi/fi was expensive. The location was good but the breakfast service was not. I expected the large, clean and comfortable room but expected better from a Hilton.

As to location, this hotel is located right next to the River Lagan, slightly out of the main city. The main city is only about 10 minutes walk away, but there is very little around the hotel except offices and the courts. Its nice to look over the river. However, one draw back to this is the railway that runs along the back of the building. The trains sound their horns here and there is a constant sound of steel scraping along steel - from early in the morning to late at night. Sleep quality was poor.

This Hotel, like many Hilton Hotels, suffers an identity crisis in that it is predominantly a business hotel and clearly hosts many of the city's conferences. Consequently normal tourist travellers (like us) feel slightly out of place. The rooms are neat and tidy, as to be expected from a business focussed hotel. I couldn't really comment on the staff as we didn't speak to any from when we booked in to when we checked out 5 days later. Prices of food and drink around the hotel were very expensive - perhaps not a problem if the bill is going on expenses but very off putting for non-business guests.

However, the biggest gaffe is to charge guests £14.99 per day to have wifi access in the rooms (its free in the lobby). This is extraordinary for a hotel in this day and age where wifi is so often free even in the smallest hotel. This isn't an infrastructure issue as the wifi is available, but it can only be a way of getting even more money out of guests - again this probably isn't a problem if its going on expensive but for a couple like us its a massive mistake. For the 5 days we were there this would have cost just under an extra £75 just to access wifi in our room! What would otherwise have been a 3 - 4 star review drops to a 2 star review because of this.

All in all we felt that this hotel and its charging structure is set up for business guests and not tourist guests. We loved Belfast and Northern Ireland and will definitely go back, but will look elsewhere for a hotel in Belfast next time (unless I am there on business with an expenses account!).

Room Tip: Buy a wifi package before you go. And try and get a room away from the sound of the railway.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments. We value all guest feedback and pass all comments to relevant mangers. The Cost of Wi-Fi does fall in line with most other Hilton’s of a similar class, but is due to be reviewed over the next 12 months.

Thank you once again.
