We booked this trip using air miles in October 2011. So we were extremely disappointed to be put into a smoking designated room on the 11th floor. When we asked why we had been put there, we were told that there was no difference between these rooms and others. This was not true. The hotel had refurbished other rooms. Our room had a very tired decor, the net curtain had a cigarette hole in it. The sheets did not fit the beds, the bathroom plugs did not work. More than that, the radiator thermostat was broken - came off in my hand - with the temperature on full. The first night was very uncomfortable as it was too hot. It took all of the next day to get the plumber to come and turn it off so we could have a pleasant night's sleep. We felt as if we had been relegated to a room that had not been refurbished and was usually used by smelly smokers.

Room Tip: 11th floor is all smoking designated rooms - not updated.

Dear Pamela G,

Thank you for comments regarding your recent stay at the Europa Hotel. It displeases me that your room type did not live up to your expectations. We are fully committed in ensuring that all of our guest’s needs are fulfilled when staying with ourselves. The 11th Floor is indeed a smoking floor and I apologise that your needs were not accommodated. I have addressed all the other issues with the relevant areas and spoken to the departmental heads. I hope this did not affect your overall opinion of the Hotel and we would love to have you return to ourselves.

Kind Regards.

We stayed in the Europa for one night. It is well located on the "golden mile" with the city centre a few minutes walk. The hotel has an atmosphere of relaxation and old fashion quality of service
which helps make up for the lack of a leisure centre.
The entrance foya is spacious and the reception staff extremely helpful.A large gas fire burns constantly with seating in the area surrounding. The gem in this hotel lies upstairs in the form of the bar.Staff are amongst the most professional I have encountered on my travels.Grab a seat by the window and look out onto Lavery,s and the Crown bar.Watch the hustle and bustle of Belfast whilst having a cocktail and listening to the piano tinkling in the background.
The bedrooms are spacious with all the usual facilities.Great showers and nicely decorated bathrooms add to the pleasure,
Overall a great night and I am looking forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Ask for newly refurbished rooms on 5th floor or above

We stayed in the europa for the weekend and it could not have went any better. Not only was I made feel completely welcome and valued there was also quick service with a smile and is close to the shops and night life etc... The view from the hotel room was a beautiful city scene and the beds were so comfortable. Friendly, clean and classy and would recommend it to anyone. James the manager of the whole place also made the whole stay that little bit more special. Thanks europa...i have no doubt i'll be staying again :)

I stayed for one night at the hotel, as i was taking part in the Belfast Marathon. Hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of the main retail area and tourist bus start points.

Check in was efficient even though it was extremely busy when we arrived. I was upgraded upon arrival to the Moselle Suite and i couldnt fault it, expansive room for my daughter to run around, room had seperate living area which we made use of by chosing in room dining the night of our stay which was fantastic. Breakfast was also delicious the following morning and catered well for marathon runners. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay.

Would recommend and definitley return.
