Stayed for one night in this hotel to celebrate my husbands birthday and take in some Christmas shopping. Superb Hotel and ideally situated beside train/bus station. Couldn't fault room or service. Only thing of note was at breakfast the area was chaotic-also we ordered porridge but it was thick and tasteless. I was so looking forward to it.(Ave wee word with Slieve Donard chef)! Luvly Hotel with great people.

Spent 3 nights recently in the Europa and from our experience could certainly recommend the hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal especially for first time visitors to Belfast being right in the city centre and a short walk to many of the main attractions and shopping.
Hotel does not have its own car park but advises on a private park 1 block away that costs £14 for 24 hr period . just drop luggage at hotel and get the easy directions to car park.
The Europa has a very impressive foyer and looked especially nice with the Christmas trees and decorations.Had requested a room on one of the upper floors but as we arrived before 3pm these rooms were not available so a very pleasant receptionist had our luggage looked after and recommended returning a couple of hours later to avail of requested room.Unfortunately we had to deal with a different receptionist when we returned who wasn't really that pushed about our request but eventually got us a room. After some time in the room we noticed a loud continuous noise which would have been difficult to sleep with so another call to reception and an extremely professional Andy had us moved within 15 minutes and because we were there for several days moved us to a suite , now that's service and I must say that the suites are luxurious ( thanks Andy)
On each of our nights there were black tie events being held in the hotel but even with the large groups there is plenty of space in the public areas and it gave the hotel a lovely festive feel .
The hotel is also on the route for the hop on hop off bus tour so its easy to arrange collection or drop off.
There are many restaurants choices within a five minute walk from the hotel and plenty of bars on the same street with the most popular Crown bar directly across the road .I was also surprised that the rates through some of the booking sites were as good if not better than some of the 3 star city hotels .If your rate does not include breakfast you can purchase a breakfast ticket at reception for £10 instead of the walk in price of £ 16.

Room Tip: Try and book a suite on 10th floor ,nice and quiet and a lift that only stops on certain levels.

A return trip to the Europa Belfast for 6 of us. A great welcome again at the Reception desk, which was such a busy weekend for them all,as the festive season was in full swing. The atmosphere in the piano bar was great with a fantastic choice of festive cocktails. We were there to attend a Birthday party the room it was held in was just right as it was only a small party of 30 the food and service provided was first class!
Our rooms were very clean with good room service, and the location to the city centre was excellent, only a small walk away. We would highly recommend this hotel if you want a good service, friendly staff plus location and great value for money!

This was a special Christmas treat for my wife who has looked after after a year long illness. And we wanted to visit Belfast and the Christmas market etc. The booking in experience was terrible just like an airport check in queue, very long not what your would expect from an upmarket 4* hotel. The 3rd floor room was just ok didnt have the wow factor, again what you would imagine from a 4* hotel. After an evening out we returned to the hotel around 8pm and had an early night. We were violently woken twice around 11pm by the fire alarm and could hardly hear the muffled loud speaker announcement not to evacuate the hotel. We didn't sleep well at all after this in fear of the alarm going off again for a real fire. In the morning when checking out the receptionist was very dismissive and unconcerned about our concerns and our restless nights sleep. Also the corridor was very noisy all night long with guests returning to and from their rooms on the 3rd floor and I am taking into consideration this was close to Christmas and various Xmas parties were being held in the hotel. We were very unimpressed and let down by this whole experience and will not be staying at the Europa Hotel again it didn't meet with our expectations of what we thought a stay in the 4* Europa hotel would be like, especially as it was a very special trip for me to say thank to my wife for looking after me during my illness.

Dear Gordon R,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I am very sorry to hear that you have been ill and the thank you you planned for your wife did not turn out as planned.
We always believe that its the first impression that counts and from that first encounter is the basis for everything thereafter.
We have 272 bedrooms in this hotel and on the day of your arrival, it happened that a lot of guests arrived to check in all at the same time. We have four check in desks available which 99% of the time are sufficient for efficient check in of all guests. It really was an unfortunate to encounter such a busy check-in.
This hotel is in the heart of the city centre and especially at Christmas time with our Christmas party nights, the hotel is at this time of the year the humdrum of festivities and parties. People are in the festive spirit and are louder than at other times of the year. We do have adequate security coverage to take into account the atmosphere at this time of the year who patrol the hotel to keep excessive noise under control.
Our fire alarms are in place for the safety of all of our residents. It was not ourselves who broke these fire alarms but was indeed guests in the hotel who took Christmas cheer a step too far. Our Managers acted immediately upon this and carried out procedures to ensure the safety of all of our guests and the guests were dealt with accordingly. I am sorry that these guests did not have consideration for fellow residents but our Managers dealt with the situation to ensure the safetly of the residents.
Please accept our apology on behalf of the hotel for your stay not being as relaxing as it ought to have been.
Perhaps if you were willing, you could email me directly on marketing@eur.hastingshotels.com and you can experience the Europa how it is most of the time during the year.

Many thanks

Four of us had a very nice meal in the ground floor restaurant but the evening was marred by exceptionally slow service. No drinks served until after starters consumed ! Apologies are no excuse for slow service.

Dear luigi.90,

Thank you for your comments regarding your dinner here at the hotel. I am very disappointed at the service you experienced in the restaurant. This is certainly not reflective of our very high standards. The Restaurant Manager has noted your concerns and addressed them with the team. Indeed you are correct, there is no excuse for slow service. The Restaurant Manager has investigated your findings and took measures to prevent this happening in the future.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our restaurant is normally very good and I am sorry that on this occasion this was not the case.

Many thanks

Lynsey Carroll
