“Terrible”
Reviewed 5 September 2010

I had stayed at the Europa before and loved it, this time I was there for a very special occasion, my boyfriend requested a nice room for this special occasion. The last time we were there was had a special deal, around 75 pounds for a beautiful room and breakfast, this time we paid 120. Last time our room was big with a view, this time we were purposely put in a box with a view onto a disgusting walled courtyard that smelt of grease. We were right above industrial fans at all and couldn't sleep so we had to get our room changed. We think that they probably put us in the worst room they could find because we had made a request for a nice room. Beware beware service standards obviously vary greatly at this institution!!

Without doubt the most excellent hotel I have ever stayed in, a beautiful room, excellent food, superb room service and quite simply the most comfortable luxurious bed I have ever slept in. Knocks spots off some of the 5 star hotels I have stayed in.

Booked this hotel for a special occasion and booked there New Executive rooms. when we got into our rooms that is not what we got, we were put in very old dated rooms with old bathroom and shower door didnt't even close. we told the reception staff and there was one that was so awful to us she ended up leaveing so upset we were in tears. we explained to them that we had booked the new executive rooms and showed them the pictures that we got from there web site of the room we were ment to have and told them that that was not what we got. eventually they moved us to the rooms we were ment to have been booked in to but the receptionist was so hateful to us and really spoit are trip.it could have been a really nice stay if we hadn't been treated by her the way we were. not what we had expected from TheEuropa Hotel. i think the receptionist that was awful to us really needs re-training in her roll. There are other Hotels next to this hotel and i think i will be booking into them next time.

My partner and I stayed for 1 night but we could have stayed for a week! brilliant staff, very accomodating an friendly, our room was lovely, bed was HUGE and so comfortable! food was fantastic also. I paid for dinner, bed and breakfast altogether and was very shocked at how reasonable the prices were. piano bar - lovely and if I was guaranteed a babysitter Id stay again tonight! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It has been some time since i have visited Belfast so wanted some where central, the location of the Europa hotel was ideal as it is within walking distance to the centre of the town, bars and restaurants. On arrival we were greated by friendly staff and checking in was effortless. The room was spotlessly clean, luxurious and the most comfortable hotel bed i have ever slept in. The bar was excellent, staff very amenable, great atmosphere and the coctails are definately worth checking out! Would fully recommend this hotel for it's central location, excellent quality, superb service and value for money

My advice is don't stay at this hotel if you are vegetarian or vegan. I ordered salad sandwiches with no butter and two of the sandwiches had bacon in them!! They said it was a mistake............but I'm not so sure.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a response on trip advisor. I have also received your letter directly to the hotel and you should receive a letter through the post any day now, if you have not done so already.

It is only through your feedback that we can continually improve upon the service that we deliver.
I have made a full investigation into the incident and I can assure you that our staff take their jobs very seriously and are committed to delivering the best in customer service and would never knowingly go against our guests' wishes.
At the Europa we cater for all dietary requirements and I do apologize on this occasion that this error occurred. This was a genuine mistake and I have spoken directly with the Chef and the Restaurant Manager to ensure that more care is taken to make sure that this does not reoccur.

Once again, apologies for our shortcomings and I hope this letter of apology will go some way to restoring your faith in the hotel.

Yours Sincerely

James McGinn
General Manager

Apologies again

From the minute we walked in the door we just knew it was going to be a good experience staying here as the first impressions were good. The hotel is luxurious, the staff were friendly, helful and courteous and the food was excellent. We were on the 10th floor and the room was really spacious and the beds were just sooooooooo comfortable. I am a very bad sleeper and my husband has a bad back and both of us got a night's sleep. We don't usually sleep when we are away from home. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud and the pillows were just the right height and very comfortable. All in all it was a very relaxing stay and we intend to return again soon.
