“Far from the luxury image it tries to suggest...”

For those of you who do not know Belfast I will inform you that the Malone Road is known at the well to do area of Belfast. Malone Lodge is situation just off this road and itself and its apartments suggest luxury and elegance in their descriptions.

To begin with the apartment itself was unimpressive and rather dull. If that was the only problem it would have been acceptable, however the list continues...
The dull grey carpet had several stains in the hallway, a hallway which was dimly lit with shallow lighting.
After one person took a bath we were appalled to discover that the water had already run cold - in an apartment meant for 5-6 people. It did not heat either when the heater was switched on. The shower head that was part of the bath didn't work properly, it shot water in every direction. Thinking wisely I decided to attempt to use the electric shower on the wall. This was hot for a while and then turned cold. When I turned it off and hung it up it continued to drip down into the bath below even after I'd dried it. When later I attempted to turn it on again it would not work at all.
The locks would also stick and the decor in the hallway was dated and bland to say the least, there was nothing special about it, it was drowsy and depressing. The man at reception told us that the left wouldn't go up to our floor, yet it did when I tried to take it...
Essentially this is incredibly unacceptable for a hotel/apartment combo that boasts a four star status and an award winning reputation. Absolute nonsense. I seriously hope we are not excepted to pay the full amount because this was a very poor attempt at luxury at too high a price.

Stayed one night for my sisters wedding, the wedding meal was flawless and I would like to thank all the staff for a brilliant night! The next day we had lunch in the bar which again was fantastic. We ended up staying for the majority of the day relaxing in the big armchairs in the lobby being attentitively served by Alan and Chris. It was a relaxing break and will be back again soon!

I stayed 4 nights a week at The Malone Lodge Hotel for 6 months and couldn't fault their customer service and attention to detail. I even got the same room every week at my request which doesn't happen in the majority of hotels. Within a couple of days I knew all the staff by name and it felt like coming home when I checked in on a Monday. I would recommend The Malone Lodge to anyone who is staying in Belfast and I look forward tostaying there again soon.

Booked in not knowing what to expect as first business visit to the city. We found the staff very courteous and very knowledgeable [with very adorable accents]. We chanced the hotel restaurant and had the most stunning steaks and side orders - completely unexpected for restaurant food and we highly recommend a visit. We were delighted with our stay, which makes a change from your typical anonymous hotel!

A really great team of people. Nothing was apparently too much trouble for them.
Charming and efficient, friendly but not presumptious.
I have been to many "top class" hotels charging 4x as much who could learn valuable lessons in guest care from this hotel.

We stayed in Malone Lodge hotel a few weeks ago rather than travel home by taxi after an event we were attending in Belfast. The room we had was a suite, across the road from the main hotel, literally just a 30 second walk. The bedroom and bathroom were contemporary in design and decor and very warm and cosy on a cold evening. There was an issue with no hot water coming out of the bath taps - although it was fine from the shower. We were offered another room but as it was not really a problem for us we decided just to stay in the room we had beeen given. Breakfast the next morning was good with a variety of choice. A very convenient hotel, close to belfast shopping and other venues. I would definitely stay again in the future.

The Malone was very nice on my first visit to Ireland from Philadelphia. The food was wonderful, the bar and service were exquisite, the hotel is very close to the park and museum which was a great way to spend three hours for free! Walk to the university, Belfast is a friendly place!
