“Lovely and quiet”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

My husband and I stayed in Camera House for 2 nights. It is a very nice place, very conformable, good bed, good bedroom. Breakfast was really good, and people very polite. Had some problems with the shower but we were told that was a problem from the drainage and that people was working on that, so it was not a problem from the house and it was solved in a couple of hours. We walked to the city center every day, didn't need to take a bus. I really recommend this place, especially if you want to relax in a quiet and silence house.

We arrived without previous booking in the middle of the day. Caroline was very nice and received us amiably. The room was on the top floor, bathroom shared with another couple. Breakfast was good, the service very friendly although all the guests had decided to arrive at the same time. It's a 20-30min walk into the center, but we could probably also have taken a bus...

We reserved a room via the Belfast Welcome Center and arrived after a long day of sightseeing in hopes of a hot shower and cozy bed. We rang the doorbell and waited a long time before asking the neighbors to call the owners. No one answered the phone. We tried again a few more times during the next few hours, but all in vain. No one picked up their phone.

We have been all around ireland and Northern Ireland for the past month, and this was certainly a first. VERY unprofessional. We were lucky enough to meet friendly locals along the way who quickly helped us book another guesthouse.

It was my first trip alone and the first time I lived Bed and breakfast. I highly recommend Camera Guesthouse. I had a small room - but it was always neat and clean + a small sink. Good opportunity to wash clothes. Large and bright living room with a garden view. Bright and cozy dining room. I must not forget the hostess Brie and helpers - they were just so sweet and helpful. I'll be back again ...

I stayed one night at The Camera and it was great. It is in a great location, not too far from the city centre (20-25 minutes to Great Victoria Station - or 20 to The Crown) in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. There are supermarkets, banks, a club, some restaurants and fast food joints and a couple of pubs (check out Ryan's, practically just around the corner on Lisburn Road) a stone's throw away.
More pluses: rooms are quite big (I was in a twin), tidy, clean and properly mantained (the loo was probably fitted a bit too quickly and there was a hole next to it too big for the pipes that ran though it, but nevermind. There's free wifi, which is also great. The hostess is excellent, as is the breakfast and all the care and attention they lavish upon you.
If you're coming by car there's ample free street parking both on Wellington Park and adjacent streets.
All in all, a reasonably priced, first quality nice little b&b. Will definitely go back!

We stayed one night at the Camera House and had a fine time. The B&B recently changed owners and was in need of some updating which we were told was going to happen. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. We had to park on the street which was OK for us, but I could see how it could be a problem.

This B&B is located by Lisburn road coming out of Belfast city center. You can walk to the city centre in 20 minutes. I found Lisburn road to be safe during the day without any problem. A taxi from the city airport was 12 pounds. A taxi to the city centre was 5 pounds.

I got a room with a shower and a small sink, and a shared bathroom in the hall. The room faced a side street and it was fairly quiet during the nights. The rooms curtains were light and did not work well for keeping the light out so I needed to use a sleeping mask over my eyes. The B&B is strangely quiet, I could only hear the people in the room next to me, I was surprised every morning when there were lots of people down in the breakfast area and I had heard no one. But you will hear the people next door very well instead.

The room felt clean and spacious for one person. The shower both in my private and the shared bathroom had very low pressure. Also there was a small flat screen TV in the room but it was placed so high on the wall it was impossible to see it when lying in the bed.
The service was good, the girls making breakfast were friendly and helpful. Be sure to be down early for breakfast as some parts could run out.
