We chose this hotel for our one night stay in Belfast based on the good reviews it got on this website. Overall I would say it was an okay experience, not amazing like the rating might suggest but definitely adequate. We got a double room on the third floor at the back of the building. The room was nicely appointed, rather spacious, nice furniture and very clean. Check-in was quick, the receptionist could have been a bit more enthusiastic and welcoming we felt.
We had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday night. It as not exactly busy but the food was very nice. It was good value since we had the beat-the-clock offer and only paid 6 pounds per meal so for that it was really good. Otherwise it would have been way overpriced. For some reason there were loads of staff running around at all times, it was a bit uncomfortable at times because it seems there were more waiters than diners! Breakfast in the hotel was okay. Nothing amazing there. Toast, cereal, fruit, orange fruit and a cooked breakfast- nothing exceptional.
The location of the hotel was alright too. It wasn't quite in the centre like other hotels were. It took about 10-15 min to walk to the centre, about 20 to walk to the Central Station.
The thing that really put me off came at nighttime when even in the third floor we could still hear the beats from the nightclub below! If you are a light sleeper this is definitely not the place to go. They do have triple glazed windows and we could still hear it. They should definitely give a warning on their website or get rid of the nightclub or something but disco and hotel just doesn't mix. This is the reason why I would not recommend this hotel to a friend of mine. Maybe we picked a bad day with a Saturday night, during the week it might be alright. If you don't mind the beats from the club then by all means, this is a good hotel but if, like me, you can not sleep with the bass from a nightclub then do chose somewhere else.
